Wedding Forum - What do you think?...

So the majority oof our wedding guests are friends, as we both have quite small families. We have decided, to stop people asking us, and putting us on the spot for gifts we are including a gift list. We bought and renovated our house years ago, and have everything that we need, so a traditional one wasn't of use. We have however been so busy with the house and setting my partners business up, we haven't been on a relaxing holiday in 5 years now.

we decided to have a gift list for our honeymoon, for excursions, spending money, upgrades etc and I wrote the following...

''Your presence at our wedding is more important than any present.
But, because we are becoming a Mr and Mrs you may want to give us as gift.
For this we ask… a contribution to our Honeymoon fund. There are many sights for us to see and many things that we can do, so, we would love to create some memories which have specifically come from you.''

what are your thoughts fellow brides to be? x

this is the one Im planning on using -

Now please don't think we're selfish,
Or that this comes from greed,
But we've lived together for a while,
So there's not that much we need

We would appreciate help though,
To send us on our way,
And allow us to have our honeymoon,
In a land quite far away

So now the point of all this rhyme,
The thing that we would like,
Isn't towels, toasters or microwaves,
But pounds and pence alike

And now you know the reason,
Behind this cheeky accord,
Please help to give us memories,
