I have been struggling to think of something for favours- originally I was going to get M n Ms in our colour scheme- today my mum went into town and looked in the black and white chocolate shop like a Hotel and found "tiddly pots" for £1.95 each. Her and dad think I could bulk buy them and then wrap them in tissue paper to jazz them up into the wedding theme. I could have different flavours for men/ women/ children.

What do you think? Is this excessive expense?

I like the fact that they're called tiddly pots. That might just sell it to me. I also like the M&M idea though - that was what I was thinking of doing.

I think it sounds cool, it's nice to put a bit of thought into your favours.

    xx

i have no idea what tiddly pots are lol? i looked at the personalised m n m's with your names on but they were so expensive for the numbers we needed. so then we were going to put a ferrero rocher in a box which we could do pretty cheap at about £40 for 80 people (ferrero's are on ebay pretty cheap). but now H2B's nan has offered to pay for the favours so it means that i can have what i really wanted and we are having Help for Heroes pin's at £3 each (H2B is in army) on a card in a pillow box with a sweet inside too. we can do the whole lot for about £230. if you have the money then go for it xx

Thats the issue Fern I will need about 60 and even with an online discount it will be around £120 before I think about jazzing them up with tissue paper wrapping or anything.
Thats a great idea Becky! I thought about charity favours but instead we are donating some of the money we are hoping to be given towards honeymoon as gifts to Dementia UK as my grandma is currently in a home suffering with that and will be unable to make it on the day.

Great idea about the dementia donation.

My Nan had alzheimers and was so sad to see her turn into someone she wasn't when she was a VERY clever and independent lady. My nan died a few years ago and as a tribute to her, we are getting married on 25th May as that was her birthday, her name was also May and she died in May.

In terms of your favours, could you not make your own tiddly pots? Bulk buy chocolate buttons and favour pots that you could decorate yourself perhaps? It could work out a little cheaper?

thats lovely mrscross2be. my nan also died of dementia and we are getting married the day after her wedding anniversary. it also happened to be the same venue as her favourite place where they used go on their anniversary. i didnt know until after i booked it so i like to think she had something to do with that. we also have a picture of my whole family sat in a room overlooking the lake so we are going to recreate the picture on the day. i have contacted alzheimers society and they have sent me a collection box for free which i can put on bar and i will donate peoples money after the wedding x
