So I've just been reading through a few of the threads on the forum and an idea from two popped into my head, specifically the photos I want and the 30 mins just to yourselves to have a break during the day.

My idea was this, we are getting married at a registry office 10 miles from the reception venue, and inbetween the two venues is a gorgeous nature reserve, I thought it would be nice if we took one of the two photographers out there to just get some nice pics around the reserve of just the two of us.

However, as the reception venue is just a football club pavillion (I'm not sure if i'm gonna hire a bar or provide our own alcohol yet) there is no "entertainment" as such so I have horrible visions of guests getting bored and disappearing off. Should I get in a CD player and have background music playing and get the in-laws to head down there as quickly as they can and hand out welcoming drinks and then get them to sit ready for our arrival? or should I just scrap the idea altogether? Any input would be valued :)

I would suggest you assign people to act as greeters and maybe have them set up some snacks and beverages. That way no ones at loose ends waiting for you two to arrive.

I think thats a good idea with the music and getting the in-laws to do greets and drinks. Even if you are away for an hour or hour and a half, i doubt anyone would leave, would be so rude if they did. Could you set up a projector of pictures of you guys? That would keep them entertained. If you have money you could hire a photo book or sketch guy/booth x

The projection is an awesome idea, I was thinking about some afternoon entertainment, but we are on a very tight budget and can't afford too much. Saying this my dad is a singer and is part of an entertainments agency and I have known his manager/agent since I was little. Maybe I could have a word with him and see what he comes up with?

I was just worried about the idea but have since spoken to MIL2B and she reckons it's a good idea as well so we shall see what we can come up with :)
