I have got an appointment at the end of the month to check out brides dresses which i may say I cant wait! We are getting married in a registry office though the venue afterwards we are unsure about.....as we dont really want to spend too much money so we was considering a pub meal in our local area of Chepstow followed by an evening party with dj, buffet and lots of laughter, drinks and dancing........ Has anybody had this similar style wedding if so how did your day go? We dont want to be spending too much on this day but do want to make it our day

I have been to one like u are planning and it was lovely day so relaxed and chilled yes it felt like a wedding but none of the posing for hour/2 hour of photos, meal was just buffet so everyone was mingling and nattering all day then in the evening evenyone partied away xx

Sounds perfect to me.... ours was meant to be small as everyone has assumed there invited to the sit down meal in my family and I'm too kind to say your not coming so I'm now having to invite the whole family... totally not how i wanted it x

Sounds like a perfect day to me! I know a couple who did something similar, they just had close family for the meal at a pub and then a disco at night, and theysaid how really special it was.

sounds great its like mine lol we wa havin ro but after ringin n gettin details we can only hav 17 people each n oh has a big family so we r now lookin at gettin married at our venue which will seat 80 problem solved.yeah its gunna cost a bit more but least i wont need a wedding car.n were only havin 1 doo bbq with a buffet.but my dress is costin a hell of a lot more then expected but ow well if i start payin now should b payed off 4 wedding hopefully x

Definitly make sure you do it your way. You wont be happy otherwise and you shouldnt have to try and please others on your day.
We're getting married in a RO and the room seats 50, Ive maxed out my guest list and some people have been chopped, its just the way things are. I have a massive number for the night though, Im up to 246 at the moment!!

Sounds a lot like my aunties wedding a few years back, which was cracking!! I've been to some where they've spent an absolute fortune and its not had nearly so good an atmosphere so go with your gut and it will be fantastic :)
