depends what you were thinking of, Is there going to be specific coloured fruit? could always have a fish bowl with a few floating flower shaped candles? x

I think it's a very nice idea. We use fruit in work to make up our window displays, and it can be very effective.
If only life could be one long tea break

Yes I saw a wedding once where they used green apples, others had tropical fruits as it was a Caribbean theme, so I say go for it!

I think it'd be lovely, and you can always include a few flowers with the fruit to tie it in if you wanted? :)
I think.its a great idea, very different u can always put flowers around the bowl or put them in differnt places xx

Apples seem quite popular - and I love it. Depending on your colour theme and what fruit you would like to use - could be really pretty. And also depends on presentation ofc.
A friend styled her friends wedding and everything was white (or ivory) and green - she made apple (granny smiths) towers as centerpieces and I think some sparkly bits wired around. It looked very pretty on the pics.

Ooohhh I love this idea and may have to steal it!
I was currently thinking bread carved with a hole for a bottle of wine and some grapes...(if that makes sense?)

Yes like the bread is the bottle-holder? That's really interesting and unusual, what other sort of decor would you be having with that?

I kinda want a summer fayre feel to it... Old crockery and vintage stuff... So not sure a traditional centrepiece would work.

I love navy. Any bright colour will go with it - or very elegant grey or camel. But if you pair it with fruit you could present red fruits and have red as your colour. Or orange and orange fruit. Or both :-)
When you say afternoon tea I see strawberries - so red!
