Hi everyone, I need help! I've sorted out my bridesmaid dresses today and they're blue (indigo blue). Just wondering what colour flowers I should have? I've looked all over for ideas but not found anything... I would love your ideas please...
    Thanks!

im here!!! i your having fresh flowers - you will find - there is not a perfect blue colour, its more purpley or lilacy, although depending on season there are ennomies, which are a deep royal blue. in lilacs& purples (as it would make a nice cotrast) limonium, statice, trachelium, freesia, lissianthus, hyacinths and a few others. in blues - theres the nigella - which is very dainty, hydrangers, hyacinths in more realistic bluey colours.
if your having silk, there is pretty much everthing as you can get silk blue roses, in most shades to be honest, with hydrangers, conflowers, aneneomies, hyacinths.
i think by sticking to "shades of" you will do better with variations that trying to get the 1 right blue colour --- i always, always tell people having fresh flowers - a contrast is better than a bad match! - a contrast will look pretty, where as a bad match will stick out like a sore thumb!!
    so perhaps blues.lialcs and whites...........
    hope it helps!!
    wishing you all the best

Thank you mrs bouquets! Great advice.
I've seen loads of bouquets in contrasting colours and blues/purples look great.
Do you know if you can get blue gerberas? I would love them for the table centres... I was looking at getting small (short) vases and putting those gel balls in and gerberas... what do you think? Or should I use the same flowers as my bouquet?

    hold on girls!!

    right from the top lol....

clarabelle - tulips generally come out of season around may time, so it would just depend on how the season goes, weather and so on can effect crop cultiviation in the country they would originate from, just like if it poured it down here at home it would ruin the flowers, and they would finish blooming ealier, so it may be an idea to have a reserve........ or silk is also an idea, but its what you have your heart set on - is it tulips? or do they have to be fresh? xxx

    next......

melbar, im afraid gerberas do not come in blue, although they do come in an off white, so if you included them in your bouquets along with the lilacs and blues, then you could have them in the table arrangements in the off white colour along with a little purpley/bluey the flowers also from your bouquets, and everything will match beautifully!! im a huge fan of co-ordiantion!!! (i drive my boyfriend mad...)

    and finally

    kelly

ive done ivory and black twice, one for a "gangster" themed wedding, and one for a more "formal" wedding, it looks fab.

for both i stuck to all ivory flowers, such as roses, freesia, lissianthus, trachelium, bouvardia, orchids, calla lillies
but also - anenomies - if you can are a spring flower to available like tulips untill around may ish - they have a black centre
the ivory gerberas have a black centre.

then for more black i used black pearls and complete feather edge

there are lots of black gems/jewls you can use to make things look more black, plus it adds a little bling.

hope i have helped everyone!! xx

hi ginge, yes this would look fine, i would suggest that if your bridesmaids are in the jade green dresses to use more ivory to make the flowers stand out against the dresses, not blend in.
and more jade green in your boquet to make it stand out from your dress

    hi, buggles.

    different but not tradtional.

have you thought of something exotic, although price would increase perhaps, you would have to ask your florist.
but there are anthuriums, calla lillies, neutans which would all come in your deep red/burgandy colour orchids there is also a burgandy one, gerberas also come in a tomatoe red, but also a really deep, dark red. or have a mix, have some roses and a couple of anturiums balancing over the top of the roses, as they are a funny shape - its quite the "norm" to have them "hover" as such over flowers, but it would also make something different, quirky and not traditional!!!
deffinatley ask your florist though and see what they say, i would think it would increase the price, but im not sure by how much its a case of from shop to shop.
but see what you think, and allow your florist a bit of freedom especially if your wanting something a bit differnet, google the net and look at photos, cirlce what you like about each one and take them along, its always a million times easier for us to understand what you like if we can both see the same things!

    hope this helps!!

hi all i wonder if you can help - i'm trying to decide on a colour theme. I am getting married at the end of may in the countryside and ideally wanted seasonal wild-ish flowers. I quite like bluebell blue with a tulip/crocus dark pink or i also like peacock turquoise - however i have no idea which flowers are that colour. Any thoughts?

I don't know if there are any flowers that shade, but having actual peacock feathers in your bouquet would look amazing!! :-)
