Our wedding budget is approx £3,000 for 26 guests. its an afternoon wedding ceremony with 3 course meal afterwards.. no evening reception but we will supply platters of food for those that choose to stay for the rest of the evening with us at the hotel.
thats including the astronomic £470 the registrar charges to come and marry us at a hotel! what a rip off! then our honeymoon in Vegas is an extra £3,000. (that's not including spending money though)
I am a DIYer, and have made so much and saved a pile of money, and also bargained hunted my a*** off.
I can resist anything but temptation

Our budget is 5-6K max! That's for 60 during the day and upto 140/150 for night. We are paying 4k for the ceremony & reception (whole wedding is in a hotel), dj, wedding breakfast and evening buffet, changing room for me from 7am, 2 complimentary hotel rooms for guests on the night, complimentary 1 year anni dinner, bed and breakfast, table linen and napkins, chair covers and sashes for ceremony and a few more things. Only things I got to sort is dresses, suits, photographer, stationary, flowers and decorations, registrar and other little bits and pieces.

We have budgeted 7k but I do not intend on spending anywhere near that amount and have been bargain hunting for everything so hopefully everything will come in at around 5.5k. Fingers crossed. x

Jeesh, I wish I could have had a smaller budget like most of you!
Oringinally wanted to spend £5k, but venue and food are that.
Wedding now looks to come in between £8-10k depending on the little extras like a band and string quartet.
Honeymoon currently has a budget of £7k - we want to do New York and the Bahamas and are treating it as a holiday of a lifetime!
I can't believe how much everything is, I honestly thought I wouldn't spend as much but I know most of my budget is on the venue and I was adamant I wanted it on Lake Windermere. I think I'm being really good with how I'm spending my money too - have a photographer for £300, not having cars, mum's making the cake, not having veil or makeup person etc, but STILL its nearing £10,000! Gutted!
We have a total of 28 people for the whole day and we're working to a £3500 budget though I'm currently running at about £900 less than that and I'm sure there will be more saved in the next few months too so I'm thinking that actual cost will be more like £2500. My photographer is free (sisters boyfriend), as is my transport (my mums boyfriend is a taxi driver and has agreed to drive us around for the day), my other sister is doing my nails and make-up for me and I'm getting mates rates on my hair for the day from one of my hairdresser friends. Flowers have cost me £35, dress is ordered and on the way. I am going to try and get myself another pair of shoes though because I'm not sure about the ones I have and that will take shoes up to £50ish. We have got a grand put by for a little honeymoon/family holiday but we're not sure we're going to have one yet.

Ours has crept up :-s At the moment, it's looking to be about £17k, excluding the honeymoon which will be anything from £4-6k. We're having 50 to the day, and 90-100 to the evening.
Venue hire: £1800 Catering (welcome drinks, canapes, 3 course meal with 1/2 bottle wine and glas of champagne for 50; evening buffet for 70; £1.5k behind the bar): £7100 Rooms (me and OH; my parents; my brother): £650 Band: £700 (mate's rates) Photographer: £1200 Cake: £500 Flowers: £400 (hopefully; that'll be 5 hand-tied bouquets, a couple of button-holes, and simple table centres (doing my own by buying flowers and popping them in vases)) String quartet for ceremony and welcome drinks: £600 Registrar's fees: £400 approx My dress, shoes, veil, accessories: £2300 approx OH's suit and shoes: £500 approx BMs dresses: £400 My hair and make-up (buying make-up and doing my own; having hair done professionally): £250 Rings: £1000 Stationary (making my own): £80 for materials Extras: £300
My parents are paying for most things, apart from my hair, make-up, and accessories, OH's suit and shoes, our rings, and the string quartet. OH's parents are paying for the cake, and hopefully putting towards the honeymoon (we'll pay any shortfall).
It's a LOT of money, but we want the day to be special, and because we want certain things (nice rings; good photographer; sit-down meal then a buffet later one; live music; etc) we couldn't have done it a whole lot cheaper. If we'd used a local village hall it would still have come in at around £12k I reckon, because the only places we would make substantial savings would be about £1200 on venue hire, about £3k on catering, £650 on rooms, and £600 on the string quartet.
