I'm getting married a few days after Easter, mum suggested mini eggs. Lets face it we all love them, they are far nicer than sugared almonds. And I can buy 3kgs of them off Internet for £15 quid. 80 organza bags and I'm done. :-)
Made a saving on that area, makes up for an overspend elsewhere
We are pinning a Macmillan Cancer Pin (puzzlepiece) on all adults name places with a note on the back explaining that we have given a donation in place of favours. My wife to be lost her Mother to cancer when she was young so it is important to us. We donated a pound for each pin badge and they are quite cool so hoping that most people will wear them in the future. The children are getting an activity book and maybe some love hearts or something instead of the pins. :)

We are having three heart shaped cookies/biscuits stacked wrapped in cellophane with a tag on top with name on to double up as place card :) All gonna be made by us so hoping it works out well.
Once the cookies/biscuits are baked I was thinking of maybe icing the top one to add some colour (our theme is teal) or to just put some tissue paper between two sheets of cellophane so guests can't see whats in the little packages? This would also add colour to the tables.
We had thought about little bulbs for people to plant but I think when we get married (12th Oct) we might be giving them a little too late and not everyone has a garden/area to plant/put a pot but its a lovely idea x

I'm having Cancer Research pins, There limited edition Jenny Packham ones, in the shape of a Swallow. Love birds is our theme :-). They came a few weeks ago and the are gorgeous. x
Loving the thread ladies. I really want to do traditional and have been looking for symbols to represent the 5 favours. Does anyone know if there are symbols or have any suggestions what to use? I was thinking chocolates with symbols in icing. Like a £ sign for wealth, a heart for health but stuck on the others. x

Ok so i'm now thinking for my 5 symbols: Longevity - the cross Health - a heart Wealth - a £ sign Happiness - smiley face Fertility - man/woman sign intertwined. Anyone have any ideas what to use though? I was thinking ice it onto chocolate discs or something. Or does anyone know somewhere i can have my own symbols iced onto chocolates / fudge for cheap? I'm on a tight budget. x
CommentAuthormrsV2013
I'm going to make pop cakes covered with chocolate (coz you can't go wrong with chocolate) and a little icing butterfly in blue I did some testers without butterfly and took them to work and they didn't last long at all :)

we are putting our own sweet buffet together. We are then having cupcake cases with a few retro sweets in and a mini tube of personliased love hearts in. Though my MIL2b is now saying SHE ( yes SHE not US) wants butterfly cookies wrapped in cellophane with a ribbon....

We are having a 1940's to 1950's theme so for ladies favours I am making potpourri scented fabric hearts tweed with red fabric on top then their initials sewed in ivory with a personaalise ribbon of our names and wedding date to hang it with. Then for the gentlemen we are giving handkerchiefs that I am going to sew in red their initials and will use the personalised ribbon to hold it like a scroll. X
25th of july 2015 i marry my soulmate:) x
CommentAuthorShirleygirly
We're having help 4 heroes trolly coins/wristbands and mini personalised love hearts. The love hearts arrived today and came in a gorgeous ivory keep sake box with a "just married" love heart embossed in the lid that ties with an organza ribbon. Totally unexpected bonus.
I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

we're using our cupcakes as favours so i just needed to buy some cheap cupcake boxes from the bay so guests can take them home :0) A wedding i went to last month the bride gave the flowers from the tables as favours which i thought was a great idea she only needed some lace ribbon to hold them together for the journey home and at least they were enjoyed for more than a day.
