I am doing chocolate bars, with a golden ticket inside which is the save the date!
A quick question ladies... do you send save the dates to evening guests??
I wouldn't save the date to evening guests as they may assume they are getting a day invite x

We are doing photographs to send out of me and him wearing tshirts with info on :)
So lucky to be marrying my soulmate on 18/07/20

Ours were all done electronically and therefore was FREE!!!
I made up a lovely design on MS Word, then e-mailed it to everyone. For those without e-mail/computer access we sent text messages and made a few phone calls and it was all done.

I LOVE the chocolate idea...thats fab!
My idea is to get passports made (so passport covers) with all the inside pages describing where the wedding is, the location, flight options etc...obv Im getting married abroad so it goes with that theme!!
Im intending on sending them out in February/March time (so 13/14 months before) then follow up with actual invitations about 6 months before, then the evening (reception in england) around 4 months before :) xxx

I am making my own Save the Date Cards to match our wedding invitations! and we are sending them out a year in advance... we are getting married at xmas next year so we are putting them in peoples xmas cards this year! saves on 2 lots of stamps! ;o)
We have had magnets before and others have just sent normal invites.. so i think it is personal preference! but i do love the chocolate idea and as Danni13 says passports if getting married abroad!
Good luck hun and enjoy x

Actually we haven't bothered with Save the Dates, we've just got my mom to tell all the family, his mom to tell his and then let our mates know ourselves. Tactically hoping that a few distant relatives will forget!

we didnt bother with them - an expense we couldnt afford - plus who knows what would happen between now and then!
If you want to do them, why not get some A4 card, make them in a word processing program as a postcard and pop them in the post!
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!
Mexico for our first anniversary <3
CommentAuthorTori
I haven't done them as things can change, just used word of mouth x

I see a cute idea in a wedding craft book in h/b the other day. It was a brown luggage tag with rope tied to a mini silver key(bay do different sizes). On the tag it said "Your presence is key" Then the couples name and wedding date.

We sent ours out a few weeks ago. We did a business card that had our picture on one side and the information on the other side.
My friend owns a graphic design company that designed it for us and we ordered 250 (not that we sent them all out but was cheaper to order that amount) for £40 quid.
You could always make them yourself if you wanted to?
I like that idea Evearella its different xx
Cant wait until I become Mrs K
CommentAuthorMrsShields2B
We haven't done them. I didn't mention it to h2b as he would want them, but thought it would be an additional expense we couldn't afford, and as long as we sent the invites out with plenty of time, people can organise themselves. Besides, my mum and i agree that the people we want to ask now may change by next year!!!

Mine are due to arrive today.... we had our engagement shoot with photographer and took a nice picture of the 2 of us dorking around, then photoshopped on the date of the wedding. Had the picture printed on a postcard and the wedding information on the back of the postcard. Cost £20 for 50 cards and being sent out in the Christmas cards xxx
Finally marrying the love of my life !!
10th August 2013 - 9 years to the day we met !

Hi i am planning at the moment and have found somewhere that does a full wedding branding thing that i am going with. We are goin for save the date cards with e cards too. They are really reasonably priced and are a new business so will do great deals. They are doing eveything for us favours, cameras, table plan and invites all with our own wedding logo on. they are even doing us a wedding website which is fab as we have loads of relatives abroad and they can see how its going and the e card save the dates came in handy there too if u want any info let me know and good luck.
CommentAuthorRuthW61
I am sending the Save the Dates in my Christmas Cards... so you could alway write it in your xmas cards as the Save the Date. That is a cheap way as you would be sending xmas cards to friends and family
CommentAuthorMrsA-J
ooo i love the presence is key idea!!!
My friends just offered to make them me :) so now i just need to tell her what i want....think ill send em in xmas cards too!
Hopefully well still want to invite the people were inviting as its just family! lol

we're sending ours with our christmas cards to save on postage x
CommentAuthorMrsA-J
its a good idea! Im going to do that.
Ive decided on a tag with the presence is key thing and a cut out key tied with ribbon...and for the really close family (mums dads nans ect) we've managed to scrape some real keys together to tie on :)
