I spoke to my friend earlier and she asked the above question and asked me to get it sorted early on to avoid her situation........ I had dressed her venue with over 40 cream lanterns at her wedding and after the first guest left with one of the said lanterns (she did ask the bride if she could take it but I thought it was cheeky!) the new MIL who by the way contributed NOTHING to the wedding, got up and started collecting some lanterns from neighbouring tables to take for her family. At this point the Brides sisters then seeing what was happening collected some other lanterns for them and the bride. What ensued was nothing but an 'bun fight'!!!! I was only 10pm at night and the tables were stripped! I have never seen anything like it! People were actaully arguing over the things and one lady complained to me that someone had pinched her lantern while she was at the bar and as the wedding planner could I go and get her another one???? Errrrr no!!!! It was horrendous and whilst not my first experience of people just taking centrepieces without asking the bride, this one was my worst. So. what are you going to do?????

I have no idea. We where having gold fish bowls with gold fish in venue you said no (understand that one)
Then thought Balloons was told no( ceiling 30 foot high would need a cherry picker to get them down.)
Then we said pillar candles in a set of three and told no as of the smoke alarms
SO i really dont know what to have any sugestions would be great.

Like I said it was by no means the first experience of this but was the worst. I have done weddings where they have put stickers on the bottom of centrepieces to say who they are meant for and my friend even put a little card on each of her table to say who they were for at the end of the night. Drink and greed! a wonderful combination!!!!!

ha ha...I suppose it just got so out of hand because the bride had not thought about it before the wedding and when the first girl left early with one, it got way out of hand. The moral of the story is if you want them to go to someone imparticular tell that person, label them or say they are hired and hand them out after the event!!!

We're hiring candelabra from our venue - loved how they looked when we went to the wedding fayre and it's one less thing to try to arrange yourself so it'll be the hotel management they need to answer to if they start lifting them lol x

thats horrendous and they better not take everything as the tealights etc are hired as part of the venue package. in terms of flowers, we are giving one to each mum and my nan and we are keeping two for ourselves. The long and low i will put on my dads grave the next day if it survives.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
