Hi, while I was pondering over the latest ideas for my Wedding on the wonderful world of the internet, I wondered how the less affluent of us manage to save for their Weddings. These days everything is so expensive and although I work full time as well as my H2B I decided to tinker with the art of jewellery making as it seemed to me to be an enjoyable and hopefully profitable way of boosting my much needed funds. I'm three months into it and loving it, and I have to say it has been a huge success so much one so, come on girls what have you lot been doing to boost your much needed Wedding Pot?

Pole Dancing!!! No only Joking Ha! Ha! I have been selling some bits and bobs on the bay of E. Although if I cant afford my dress I might have to reconsider the Pole Dancing lol!!!!!!! I have had to cancel my photographer and DJ, just cant afford it since our income has been cut. My dress and honeymoon are still hanging in the balance.

I've been prompted to have a good clear out and sell stuff which has raised a few pennies. I've not really got much time to make stuff to sell so I've been trawling internet for bargains and cheap supplies in the hope I can make my own invitations (fingers crossed I get round to it lol) I'm trying to do bits of overtime at work but with them making cutbacks there's very little going :(

Trudi you'll have to put some pictures of things you've made on your profile for people to have a look. you may inspire others and and get them to make you something similar x

Likewise, have also sold stuff on the bay, major clear-out ongoing! Considering offering services as a dog walker too...work part time and take our dog out every day for an hour or more so if someone wants to pay me to bring their dog along too that could work!! Trudi what's your page on book of face if you don't mind me asking??

were doing pay by click sites and have 700 saved so far. needless to say were lucky to have our wedding being paid for us but that money will be going towards a minimoon, were going to stay on at the venue for a week after the wedding hopefully so that money will cover that.xxx

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

I've been doing babysitting (I work in early years so jobs pop up from time to time) but yesterday I suddenly realised I have NOTHING in my wedding pot :/ We're moving house on Friday and our new home needs serious work, so with that and the cost of two moves we're broker than broke. My other half is worse than me, he's seeing projects in everything and telling him we cant afford it and an amazing wedding is like kicking a puppy, he looks so sad! Only thing that keeps me strong is reminding myself how I'll look if I don't get the day I dream of!

Don't get me wrong, we're lucky, my dress is being paid for by my mum and invitations, name cards and seating plan being made by his dad, his parents are helping with costs too but why are weddings so expensive??? One day to tell the world you love your man more than anything and always will be his, sets you back thousands. I tell Luke I love him a million times a day I don't need a huge do (I do need my dress though!) ah if only I had a tree that grew money...

we are just tightening our belts a bit.... supposedly... but to be honest because it has taken us 2 years to do it, we havent had to do anything differently. Just go and eat out a little less. I think spreading the cost has been the best thing we have done rather than rush in and panic and have to change our way of life for the wedding.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

It's was our birthdays at the weekend so as there was nothing we really wanted so we ask for money to put in our wedding fund our family's was amazing we got nearly £300 between the both so that was a big boost to the fund, also I do Avon long side my full time job so any money I make from that goes in the wedding fund.

Thats good Anni.... i am week 1 off non smoking and amazing how much more money i have in my pocket.

Change jars are awesome too, mum got us a wedding pot and i empty my purse out every few days into the change pot. Also if we are going out for the night and i take say £50 cash out, i then empty by purse out when home into the wedding jar and leave it all there including notes as i had already decided to spend that much money. xxx
