    Hi all,
Just a quick question really, if a venue says the Sundays are premium days through May to October, what would that mean? I always thought that Sundays were cheaper to have a wedding on then Saturdays? Or have I got that wrong.

Also, a Sunday lunch style menu would be £50 per head on the day, is that reasonable? (We had the 3 course Sunday lunch menu this past Sunday, and it was only £20 per head! Just wondering why such a difference in price?)

    Thank you x

For some reason they decide to charge you Fri/Sat rates for the Sunday also.... Naughty hey!
They put the rates up when its a function hun. As soon asthey hear the word wedding prices double.
Ours is £95 a head but includes wedding breakfast, toast, drinks with meal and a finger buffet in the evening.
    Hope that helps..
I'm getting married on a Sunday and it is £1k cheaper at the venue.
    Kxx

    Wow, thats a great saving!
This price per head doesn't include anything else! Its just annoying as I know they do the same meal every weekend for £30 less! Its wrong they decide to put the prices up so much, just because it's a wedding!
    xx

I know mate, if you said it was for a birthday it would be totally different. Its just the word, they see £ signs and take advantage of us ;0(
The only other way round it is by having a finger buffet instead of a wedding breakfast hun. xx

Ouch £50 is expensive I think if its just for the 3 course meal.
Ours is £49 but includes 3 course (2 sunday roasts type menu) with coffee, mints and mince pies (xmas )= £25 per head,
Drinks package at £15 per head to include arrival drink, half a bottle with meal and toast drink.
Evening buffet at £9 per head which consists of bacon and sausage sandwiches, cheese biscuits and crackers and cakes, pastries, muffins, tarts and doughnuts.
All the venues Ive gone thru its always Saturday as the premium day and then Fri and Sunday as equal second. xxx

you've got to remember that on a sunday you go, sit down, order, chef cooks maybe 4-5 dinners at a time, waitress who is working that day brings it to your table, collects the plates again. but on your wedding day they have got to get the dinner ready so it can go out at the same time, they would have to have few more people to serve the food and collect plates then do all the clearing up too so they have to charge more to cover wages etc. i do agree that £50 for a roast dinner is expensive and i certainly wouldnt pay it but i dont like roast dinners lol. maybe ask them to give a bottle of wine per 2-3 people or haggle the price xx

not sure hun, our venue only classes saturdays as peak days, fridays and sundays even through summer are classed as off peak. quite handy really, coz that saves us a grand! x
