Wedding Forum - What are giving your groom as a gift?...

I am having a tough time figuring out what to get him , i want it to be special obviously. Apparently the bride gives the groom a gift as is tradition.
Do you have any ideas?

I would love to do something like that too but where do they put it after that as I wouldn't want it on show lol. I think it might have to be a watch as he loves them xx

lol i got a free print which i framed its on our bedroom wall and i have an album for hubby noone else sees them though lol xx

No unfortunately not, I have Chronic Kidney Disease, so need it for my Dialysis. The only hope I have of getting rid of it, is if a Kidney comes up, so I can have a transplant. Which I'm on the waiting list for. Either way, they said I'm scarred for life, n it looks awful. It wouldn't be so bad, if it wasn't in the middle, but is. So the only hope is a transplant, then cosmetic surgery to get rid of the scars. xx

I've bought him a pair of cufflinks for the day which he knows about, but I've also written a list called '101 reasons I love you' for him to open on the morning of the wedding which he doesn't know about :)

ye hun it is and got dvd of wedding aswell and watched it twice and cried lol its just such a magical day then its gone in a flash x

That is pretty cool though, it's the thought that counts, H2B will still have a lot to do, cos he can buy the lorry to go with it himself. I'm not doing everything. LOL!! Might just end up giving up my flat for a life on the road, which I have always wanted to do. xxxx

My H2B is 40 next Monday and I'm going out tomorrow to buy him the aftershave I got him for our first Christmas together which he loves but has ran out and always goes on about it but now I don;'t know whether I should just get him this as his pressy as well as s the socks and cufflinks?

i dont know yet. Seriously looked into the boudoir shoots but since he got me the e.ring and he has had nothing but a cup, then i am seriusly thinking of getting him a Tag Huer watch as something really special that he will always have and always treasure. The only issue is that we open each others mail so he will see my bank statement. I really dont know how to hide that amount of money from going out of the account until after the day. I am going to see if my mum can temporarily give me the pennies and then I try and sneak so much out of the account as cash per week so he doesnt notice? Any ideas?

I was originally going to give my h2b a letter that I wrote when we were 18, when I first realised I wanted to marry him (I was in the habit back then of writing letters that I didn't plan to send) but I sadly cannot find it anywhere.

I toyed with the idea of a boudoir shoot but I'd be too self conscious to do it. Plus I know, with my luck, someone would end up seeing them (e.g. h2b's little sis getting curious about the big book and pulling it out).

In the end, I decided on a gift based on this story:
On our first date, we went to the cinema (we saw The Producers). After the film, we were stuck for ideas for what to do. We'd both eaten already but we didn't want to call it a night. So we sat on the benches outside the cinema and talked for ages, and I confessed about my then addiction to msn messenger (he made the observation that we always ended up online at the same time). Then I said "you've probably already noticed, but I use "lol" far too much. Sorry about that." He laughed then paused for a moment. His brow creased and he asked,
"Why "vole"?"

Since I say "lol" as a word rather than initials, he thought I said "vole", which I found hilarious. And it became an inside joke for years.

For this reason, my gift to my h2b is a cuddly toy vole.

after the wedding we are paying for each other to have a tattoo each Nothing matching or anything he is having a bio hazard sign and I'm having a dragonfly :-)

He is getting mine and our son's faces tattooed on his chest along with our wedding date. It won't be on the day that though. I was thinking about making him a little hamper for the day, socks and new pants, a miniture bottle of whiskey, a check list of everything he needs to remember, a cd of our fave songs, some tic tacs (well i don't want him turning up smelling of whiskey do I lol), and finally a letter to reassure him not to be nervous and that i love him (you know the soppy stuff)
