A good friend of h2b and me was gonna vid the day for us as he has a brilliant hd camera. He called tonight - he and his friend are setting up a photography business and want to use our wedding as their first portfolio event! And they don't want anything for doing it either!

So, we'll have them two all day videoing and taking snaps and our professional photographer too!

As a professional photographer please be very careful with this.
The people are effectively setting up in competition against your pro, they are likely not to like that. As I'm sure if someone turned up to your work, shadowed you with no pay but with the intention of taking your job then you would not be happy too.

If you are planning on getting an album make sure that you pay the pro your full attention when he or she needs it. Otherwise all the shots will have wandering eyes.

Make sure the people setting up understand ceremony etiquette.
Reason I say this is because it happened to me and a vicar banned photography for the ceremony and the couple were gutted.

Thanks for the advice. My friends aren't going to be competing in any way with our pro - he's there to do 3 hours of pro photography. During that time my friends will just be videoing the ceremony and taking some photos at my request before and after our pro.

Thanks for the advice though :o)
