We've just been to book our honeymoon today, we're SO excited! We wanted it to be special with it being our honeymoon and Adam really wanted to go to America so we've booked 5 nights in San Francisco, 5 nights in Los Angeles and 4 nights in Las Vegas!
We're going to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the Grand Canyon...oooh I'm so excited! We're staying in a hotel right on the strip in Vegas too so its going to be ace! We've gone for quite fancy hotels as a treat, we've never splashed out on hotels before so its going to be lovely, 2 of them are boutique hotels and look really cool :o)

Anyway sorry to go on about it but I'm just REALLY giddy and wanted to share with you all! :o)

If anyone can suggest good places to go in LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco too I'd really appreciate it!

    Thanks xxxxxx

San Fran is AMAZING, I was proposed to on the Golden Gate Bridge and definitely do Alcatraz, it's a really good tour! Don't forget to find Lombard St, the crookedest street in SF and if you're up early, we went out around 6am to find the steepest streets in SF, to see if we could climb them and it was really surreal as there was so little traffic about - felt like we were in Inception! But when you do see the odd car it's so bizarre how you see them driving and taking a corner at the top, I dread to imagine the clutch control! Also just south of the bridge, get a bus to Golden Gate Park, the Academy of Sciences is a really top notch natural history museum, unlike anything I've seen before - it has a proper walk in rainforest! Lots of pretty gardens and things to see there, Mission District is a funky place with second hand furniture stores, cafes etc - one thing we wish we'd done but will have to go back for is to cross the birdge and head to the Sequoias which was in Rise of planet of the apes, you can also do a tour to Yosemite and Napa Vally for wine tasting! Ooh and for Lost Boys nostalgia check out the tacky Fisherman's Wharf with the smelly sealions!!

thanks Bridalmiss, thats really helpful! We weren't sure how we were going to fill all the time there so thats helped a lot!
Aww MrsHardy2be if it makes you feel any better I'm not going to have any semblence of a social life for the next 6 months, every extra penny I have is going to have to be saved up to pay for it! Its really expensive because of all the internal flights and the flights to get there and back. We've also booked transfers to/from the airports and like I said, we didn't go for the cheapest hotels. The travel agent were really good and knocked off £330 to get it down to match our budget and they're giving us £60 towards an excursion while we're there too :o)

Ask lala about places to visit in Vegas, she goes there a lot with her h2b and was there only a couple weeks ago too, so she will have lots of ideas for you. Also Heather has recently come back from getting married there so she would also be able to ell you things!

Also for places to visit in SF, I will post a link on your wall un a min to a blog I follow on tumblr, she did an article about good thing to see and do there not long ago!

Amazing honeymoon though, I am madly jealous and insist you take lots of pics to show us hehe x

too much! haha! Its costing us £2000 each for all flights, including the internal ones, airport transfers and the accommodation. Its an awful lot of money (in my opinion!) and we're planning on taking about £1000 each spending money (just to be safe) as we need to pay for all our food and drinks and want to do plenty of sight seeing.
But we can afford it, will just have to be really careful up until then and save as much money as possible.

    xx

ps. I have no idea what is a normal price for a honeymoon!

we went to vegas and stayed in planet hollywood which was really nice! i didnt want to go to america but we went! you need alot of money for vegas i took 350 for 5 days and i spent it all. its expensive as all you can do is gamble and shop. food is a bit pricey and the trips and activities as a tad pricey too. One thing that was well worth the money was the show we saw x

Ooh and Sara if you have time and like fish, head down to Monterey Bay when you're in SF, about 2 hours drive south but you can get day trips there - I'm well into fish etc so loved it, we're going to the Maldives for our honeymoon so I can get some good diving in before the reefs erode away...:-(
