We have arranged that everyone has a drink of choice on arrival to the reception venue after the ceremony. I was also going to arrange to have flutes of sparkling wine and punch bowls full of different cocktails (about 3 different kinds, with 1 being non alcoholic) for when the guests are mingling before we arrive and for when we are getting pictures taken at the venue. There will also be canapes going around at this time as well. My mum thinks that i am putting on too much for them to drink and it will go to waste, but i am imagining that if people are going to be talking and mingling for more than 30 mins then they will want more than 1 drink plus they will need something to wash the canapes down.

We are also providing them with 2 drinks during the meal and a drin kfor the speeches. Do you think this is too much alcohol for them? x

Gotta giggle at the "is it too much alcohol"
My dad said to me that people remember the day not how much extra food and drink you have laid on or if you have paper or linen napkins or chair covers........hence minimal we are going for. We are going to have a welcome drink and then a couple of bottles of wine on the table and toast drink. HTH xx

we are only going to have a welcome drink and then half a bottle of wine each with food.

i think that is enough to be honest but if you want to provide more then do it. xx

We are only having welcoming drinks as were on a really tight budget and would have provided more if we could afford to..

I like what princessnat said "its not what you put on for them that will be rememberd but the day" I'm now gonna be saying this when ever someone mentions I've not done enough etc.. xx

We're having a half bottle of wine per person with the lunch, and that's it. If people want extra drinks they can buy their own

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

we are on a tight budget too, we are providing wine with food and for toasting, but we have brought out own champagne and have hired champagne flutes so people can have a drink outside the church while we have photos taken - no corkage or high venue prices :)
