Hi Ladies, and gentleman….of course

I'm Becky and I met Phil last year at a friends BBQ Jun '09, I wasn't looking for a relationship let alone love, but what can I say, he knocked down all my walls I had built to protect me and we started going out July '09. He's my rock and I love him with all my heart and I can't wait to be his wife. I just recently completed an intense year degree, in which Phil had asked me to move in with him Nov '09, I wasn't the easiest person to live with (the computer nearly went out the window.... so many times!!), tears galore, but Phil remained by my side and pushed me through and without him I wouldn't of qualified as a nurse specialist. When he proposed it was a complete shock, on the Wednesday 11th Aug (much to my relief) I found out I had past my dissertation, I came home work on the Friday 13th (yeah, unlucky for some but not for me!!!) to find flowers placed on the stairs, I walked into the living room to find Phil on one knee. He wanted to wait till our holiday in Sep, but he couldn't wait, he said he wanted it to be a complete surprise and knowing me I would of suspected something. We've set the date 5th April 2012 (less than 18 months away!!). What can I say.....when you know you know!! Life has taught me a lot of lessons, but I’m now enjoying life with great family, friends and in particular my gorgeous fiancé x

just kinda stumbled over this page n boy am i glad! all the info im going to need on one page, iv been bookmarking and favouriting like mad the last couple of days! lol. I'm lee, im 24, from Edinburgh, been with my H2B since we were 15, engaged since we were 17, but then had 2 kids and never really bothered about the whole marriage thing... now we've decided that as our kids are getting older (well 5 and 2) and starting to wonder why mummy has a different surname we should get married, plus i think it's about time we done something for "us" as a couple instead of "us" as mummy n daddy. H2B is catholic and I'm not so any info on whether I'll need a catholic dunking to be his wife if we marry in a church or just some classes would be most welcome, as would any ideas on places that cater for smaller weddings (40 day, 80 night) as everywhere seems to want me to have 70+ (i don't fancy paying for half the streets dinner just to get a good venue lol). He had a 2 major stroke's in 2008 and it has left him with some disabiliy and with him being right handed it's been a challenge for him to get used to being a leftie like me....he walks with a stick sometimes......and some days struggles to talk clearly. BUT I LOVE HIM TO BITS xxxxx He is the one i have been looking for xxxx

Firstly what a great site, so pleased I found it!

I'm Ria, engaged to Jay for 4 years, together 8. We have 3 children, our eldest will be 3 next month, middle one is 14 months almost and our youngest is just 3 months. Our youngest was born premature and had a very rocky start to life. Going through the emotional rollercoaster of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit again (our previous two were also premature though not as early as our last) it really brought us together and has made us stronger than ever. We knew we'd always get married some day but having been through so much over the last couple of years we decided to finally set a date.

My Dad was diagnosed with cancer just before Christmas 09 and we've had a very up and down year with him as well, at the moment he is waiting to have surgery so depending on how well that goes our wedding day may be brought forward but at the moment we're going for 1 June 2012.

Looking forward to chatting to you all and getting lots of tips!

I'm Jana and I'm marrying Rajiv next year. I'm originally from Slovakia and Rajiv is from Mauritius. We met 3 years ago on the bus :) As we both a different religion and our families live in different countries we decided to organise 2 weddings. So in Slovakia I'm having a traditional church wedding and a Hindu wedding in Mauritius. I can't wait! It's just the organising to do now. I have a younger brother who is very keen helping with all the organising while I'm here in the uk and my mother in law to be is already started to organise the Hindu wedding as I haven't got a clue really what goes on in there. My name is Michelle and I am recently engaged to James. We are childhood sweethearts and have been together since we were 15 years old. We will have been together 8 years in March 2010 and hope to get married Easter/Summer 2013. We both work in schools so need to get married in the holidays which I know will hike the prices up!
Our vision is one of English Country-style wedding, with classic vintage details but also something fun reflecting the both of us. We've already joked of a Karaoke booth and x-box set up in the corner.
All of this is new to me, people keep saying 'Its about time' as we have been together so long. I already feel different being engaged, I just know it will be amazing being married.
We need to get married in the North west, around the Rochdale area, so any suggestions of amazing venues would be appreciated, he proposed on Tuesday whilst I was in the bath so my feet haven't had time to touch the ground!
