Ive not come across this before but was going through wording templates on a bridal site (named after the stuff you throw at weddings) and they have a template for a booklet called "Welcome to our Wedding" At first I thought it was like an Order of the day but reading it, it sounds a little more personal.
copy and pasted from site 'Welcome to our wedding' is a great way to keep all you guests informed of the programme of the day, week or the reception. It also makes a great keepsake of the day for your guests. Items you could include are how you both met, schedule of the day, table seating plan and a thank you message for your guests.
I was doing Order of service and Order of the day seperate on single sheets but now thinking of making this kind of booklet for everything they need to receive at the Church. Anyone else doing this? xx

That sounds lovely, and thanks to your hinting I knew what company you were talking about straight away, lol. Going to have a look now, we aren't having OOS as not having a church wedding but these booklets sound really nice. x

I quite like the idea of a mini version of the seating plan included as it stops all my elderly, short sighted relatives causing a bottle neck at the entrance while theyre finding where their meant to be on the table plan. lol xx

Oh Hails I love the idea of your booklet. Especially the whos who as most of my family wont know the best men etc... Think the idea of photos in the background is fab but I hate what I look like on photos.....dreading the wedding photos! lol xx
My main problem is knowing when to stop. I could start off with a booklet and it could end up like a version of war and peace. xx

I've just found it and that sounds like a lovely idea, needs a little tweaking as I've no need for a seating plan really , but what a lovely little keepsake for the day. As I've only 30 guests, I think I could manage doing those myself. FAB thank you for the heads up x

This is a fab idea!!! I was umming and ahhing whether to bother with OOS/OOD as it isnt a church wedding but would like people to see whos who in wedding party. It would probably work out cheaper than doing OOS with a large seating plan to combien the 2 in this way. Would have to look into printing companies though as i wouldn't have time to make them by hand! It's got me thinking tho lol!! x
CommentAuthorlovelylainee
Oo it is a lovely idea - might do that myself as is easier to print than an A table plan and means that people have something nicer and more personal to keep afterwards :) xxx

Yeah Im maybe thinking now of doing away with the table plan at reception as this was my most expensive item to do by hand. xx
Hails, I think for me a few hundred yards from the camera would be ok.... a dot on the horizon maybe (-: xx

Ahhh if we had a whos who I could have lil photos of bridal party but with christmas hats/antlers on to stay within the theme... that way I could be heavily disguised. Im guessing Steve wont go for the dress up bit tho. xx

Awe that sounds like a lovely idea! I'm just putting together my thank you cards and am going to do a "memories of the day" envelope with some key things in it like skeleton leaves, our dedication list & mini photos of the day including that particular guest. x

i think that sounds lovly; in my plans i already have a similar thing, but mine includes aide-memoires for all the participants, as they will be doing things they HAVE to get correct, and they have (mainly) never done it before. It is also the best way i can think of to intergrate somthing totally alien into my generally 'socially-straight' family & friends

This is going to sound a bit dumb but when would you give them out to your guests? I'm getting married in Cyprus and had decided not to have a table plan, thought this might be a good choice to give the guests on the day that way they wont forget it!! haha

I did a timeline.......similar to order of service but as we got married in a register office there was no need for songs etc, but we included the bridesmaids names, and what time the meals and photos were......so that everone knew what was happening and when. We told them about the permissions for confetti and photography....... We also included a thank you to all that came and a remembrance page for my parents and Andys mum......it was a nice touch
Oh....and I got them done at the printers of vista.....and they cost me £3 for 25.....Well they were free but the P/P cost £3
