Hi I got engaged almost a year ago and booked wedding within a few weeks For May 2016. We booked reception, church, photographer, videographer, band & dj, cars and hair and make up. I also got my wedding dress a few months ago. Hoping to book remaining things in next few months. We are having a traditional wedding with full wedding breakfast and buffet at night. I'm in Northern Ireland and it's the done thing here. Although it's very costly, time to get saving!

Yeah weddings can be very costly, I can't believe how much ours is costing, but we wanted to have it all so we're having to pay for it all :) it sounds like your being organised and booking things in advance :) so you should be okay.
That was our view as well, we booked things as soon as we got engaged as we knew we wanted time to save and also wanted to make sure if there was a vendor we wanted, we got them.

Thanks Donna I think it's time for us to get the head down and save lol it was my fiancé wanted the big wedding more so than me I would have been happy to elope lol but as I say it's the done thing here and what you are expected to do!

Hi everyone, I got with my fiance nearly 9 years ago, he proposed on our 1st anniversary and we had the plan to get married the following year, however a few months later we discovered we were expecting our 1st daughter so plans were put on hold, she was then followed by her sister and then their brother came along. We now feel our family is complete and next year 2016 marks our 10th anniversary so plans are back on to make our 10th anniversary our wedding day and cannot wait so excited :) x

Hi everyone, just thought I would introduce myself!
I've been with my fiance for 3.5 years and we've been engage just over 1 year.
We were originally planning to get married this year but our beautiful bundle of joy arrived in August so we've put it on hold until winter next year.
I can't wait to start viewing and booking things. I already have loads of ideas which I will put down in a planning thread.

Just here to introduce myself!!
My h2b and I have been together 3 yrs now, got engaged about 16 months ago (on a cliff was scary), we decided to wait a bit before we got married as he was married before!!
We decided last year that we were going to get married in August this year, as we have 5 kids between us (1 is mine, 4 his, only 3 of his live with us + mine), so with them all being at school it's a lot easier now!!
So far all I have managed to do is book the church and hall, and just ordered my dress!
Am really struggling with bridesmaids as I have 4, and 5 flower girls, and can't seem to find anything to suit them all, except little ones, but when I find something for little ones i can't find for adults arghhh.... Our colours for the day are purple for the girls and blue for the boys (trying to use both our favourite colours).
The wedding reception is going to be country western style, which should be plain and simple, no sit down meal just line dancing and lots of fun and food. We are doing sit down meal a few weeks before with all close family and friends!!
I would like to hear others suggestions that would be helpful, and make some new friends along the way!!

Hello I'm Liza,
I'm from Lancashire and getting married December 2016. I'm a wedding coordinator meaning my wedding is supper organised already I've booked my venue provisionally booked my registrar (can't confirm until 12 months prior) I've done my guest list and a table plan (all computerised so changeable)I've booked my venue dresser, and about to book hair and make-up.
I went to my first wedding fair as a bride yesterday which was very exciting untill the lady greeting recognised me and gave a frosty welcome :( then the brides behind us where given bubbly! Ruined it for me and my sister (another bride)
Looking forward to using the forums and talking all things wedding.
