I got engaged 13th Dec 2012, and am now only 26 days away from my Big day on the 7th June 2014! I'm a bride on a budget, but doing my very best for it not to show and my day will look like it's cost me a million dollars. I have spent months upon months researching the cheapest options and finally have pretty much everything sorted. Just a few small bits left - which is why I am here, as advice and ideas needed!! x

We met approx 15 months ago, we knew that we wanted / should be together within a few months and we booked our wedding in October last year to get married 28th December this year. Much of the planning is done althouth still quite a bit to do but we're doing all of it together....except my outfit of course!

Hello, We're getting married in August after being engaged just over 2 years. Originally planned a bigger wedding, but I was seriously ill last year and had a Pulmonary Embolism. Earlier this year decided to see if our original date was still available but with a smaller venue and it was, so now mostly planned out and getting ready for August.

Been posting a couple of days now but just thought I should say Hi, Vicki here, got engaged last June 13th, been with the H2B 8 and a half years nearly and FINALLY getting married on 10th Aug 2015 4 months before our 10yr Anniversary. He's my knight is shining armour. I was in a pretty bad situation with an ex who I still lived under the same roof with when we met and after 3 months of my H2B watching how this person treated me he made the decision one night I wasn't spending another moment in that place and moved me into his flat. It was meant to be temporary as we were just friends but things grew and a foundation for an amazing relationship was built and I never left. We now own a house and have a muppet of a dog together. He truly is my best friend as we love a lot of the same things and also have some weird things in common. eg Neither of us like tea/coffee, wine/champagne, football. Even weirder, we have a birth mark that is very similar in nearly the same place, born in the same year but opposite ends of the country (Me Portsmouth, Him Dunfermline). We also recently discovered my aunt and his dad when working for the same company H2B and I at the age of 8 went to the same annual Christmas trip to see the panto in Edinburgh and saw Cinderella. I am absolutely excited to be marrying this man.

Hi im a newbie, my name is Louise. We got engaged on boxing day which was also my grandparents golden wedding anniversary. Have booked the church and venue and our wedding date is 15/05/2015. Already have my dress brought and stored at my moms house. I have asked 3 out of my 4 bridesmaids and my 2 flower girls and have loads of ideas that i am holding back on untill closer to the time. My 4th bridesmaid comes home tomorrow from 3months working abroad and i cant wait to see her catch up and pop the question to her :-).

Hi I got engaged on 18/05/14 after living with my h2b for 18 years. We hope to marry 2015/16 but are still very unsure what we want. Ideally we would love a very small church wedding at home with a large evening party, but as my h2b has 14 siblings and I am very close with my aunts/uncles on my mothers side a small wedding just isn't possible so for this reason we are looking at heading away just the three of us (we have a 8 year old son) and then having a large party when we return. I want a day to cherish and remember but don't want to spend thousands doing so. Looking for tips, advice and meet like minded people.

Hi everyone, we are getting married 20th June 2015 after being engaged for nearly two years. Just starting to look at venues, think I know what dress I want and colour for the bridesmaids but am stuck on a theme. Loving the apps on the site, I'm finding them really helpful in planning our big day

Have a smaller guest list. Registry office is the cheapest way (that's what we are doing). Also a weekday is much cheaper for venues. You can have a hog roast or a BBQ (depending on your venue), don't have a starter, and use your wedding cake as pudding!

Hi all, I'm very new to this, have not used forums before lol. So me n my partner got engaged on my 21st birthday, september 2012. Although we are not quite ready to book a date yet, we are looking for ideas, tips, advice, inspiration. The only thing we have decided is we want picturesque and want it to be unique.
please help me out, I have no idea where to start or what i need to do lol. in fact I dont have a clue full stop lol.

Thanks for the tips SunnieS39. We was thinking maybe a marquee and a hog roast instead of the wedding breakfast. But not sure if It would cost just as much for a marquee as It would would a venu. X

After being together over 4 years and living together at his parents for 3 of them and in our own place for the last 3 months, we are hoping for a short engagement and to be married within the next year or two. Only problem is, I do not know a thing about planning a wedding, saving for it and having a nice but reasonably priced wedding.
Where do I start? Any help/ideas will be very much appreciated. :) thank you xx

Hi im new. Got engaged 5th May 2013 in Turkey. Hoping to get married August 2015 but on a REALLY REALLY tight budget. Got the venue and the church having a real issue with caterers as I had a quote for a formal sit down 3 course wedding breakfast which was £2500. Now thinking of something more informal such as a BBQ if anyone knows of any good companies that don't charge an arm and a leg?? x
