Hi everyone, I got engaged in January. Im a bit of a wedding phobe (I don't like planning anything and I hate to be center of attention) I'm hoping to get married in Italy next year, with as little fuss as possible. Ive always loved listening to other peoples wedding planning progress tho and I love going to weddings (i'd just rather not be the bride).

I signed up to UK Bride in 2010 when my fiance first proposed but never really used it.. Our wedding date got booked in March 2010 for July 2012 and cancelled in May 2011 for financial reasons and now re-booked for July 2015 :-)
I just started again today on here, started my first 'discussion' and I'm already addicted !! :-) xxx

Hi ;-) my name is Kim,

I got engaged to paul on 24th May 2011 at the bottom of Niagara Falls. Paul said if i hadn't said yes he would of chucked me in. We were originally going to get married on 15th December 2012 a christmas wedding. But we had to change it as we had issues with the original venue, my dad who lives in Canada couldn't make it either so it was a bit of a disasterous start to wedding planning really. We then brought our first house together in January 2012 so we couldn't afford it in 2012. So we set a new date of 24th August 2013 with most saying they could make this date.

I have only 5 months left to go but i still have to organise/book hair/makeup for me and two bridesmaids, flower girl dress, wedding rings and our honeymoon. So getting a little nervous now as i feel i have left the hair/makeup too late. The other added issue is cost i am already £2,000 over budget.

Well i look forward to speaking to you all.

Hi All! I'm Anna, and my Fiance (not used to that yet) proposed a week ago. We're just in the process of choosing a ring so that's mega exciting. We're hoping to get married within the next year. I would like a winter wedding, really cosy with log fires etc. Nothing booked yet, but December would be great.

Ok now for my modly bit.....

FIRSTLY can I ask you all to read the forum rule thread that is at the top of the page as it not only lets you know all our dos and donts within the forum it also explains all you need to know with regards to our heart and points system as well as a few other need to know bits.

Secondly for all you newbies that haven't a clue where to start please read a thread called "a brides checklist" this has an amazing list of exactly what to do and when, when your planning your wedding and is a BRILLIANT help!
To find this thread go to the search above and type in the thread name as above and the thread will pop up for you :-)

Thirdly when writing a thread please remember to use the search above first because most questions have been asked so there are many threads available that have some brilliant tips and advice in them that would be a shame to waste simply because you missed them.

Fourthly alot of you have your profiles restricted. To get the full benefit of the site you need to unrestrict them so the ladies can add you as friends and so they can put links on the wall if your trying to find something as they are not allowed in the forum.
To unrestrict your page all you need to do is go to your wedding page by clicking the wedding button above. Then under your wedding countdown clock there is an edit button. Click that and it will take you to a page where all your details are, at the bottom is profile settings so just click that to public and your all set to go! :-)

And lastly JUST ENJOY BEING A MEMBER OF UKB AND PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY
