Hello. I'm new. I've been engaged for two weeks, getting married 11th April 2015. We've booked the church and reception venue. We're now looking into wedding cars. Not really sure what order to do things but have started it this way! xx

Ok now for my modly bit.....

FIRSTLY can I ask you all to read the forum rule thread that is at the top of the forum page as it not only lets you know all our do's and don'ts within the forum it also explains all you need to know with regards to our heart and points system as well as a few other need to know bits.

SECONDLY if you haven't a clue where to start please read a thread called "a brides checklist" this has an amazing list of exactly what to do and when, when your planning your wedding and is a BRILLIANT help!
To find this thread go to the search above and type in the thread name as above and the thread will pop up for you :-)

THIRDLY when writing a thread please remember to use the search above first because most questions have been asked so there are many threads available that have some brilliant tips and advice in them that would be a shame to waste simply because you missed them.

FOURTHLY, to get the full benefit of the site you need to unrestrict them so the ladies can add you as friends and so they can put links on the wall if you’re trying to find something as they are not allowed in the forum.
To un-restrict your page all you need to do is go to your wedding page by clicking the wedding button above. Then under your wedding countdown clock there is an edit button. Click that and it will take you to a page where all your details are, at the bottom is profile settings so just click that to public and your all set to go! :-)

And lastly JUST ENJOY BEING A MEMBER OF UKB AND PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY!

Another newbie, I'm getting married on 26 July 2014. So far I have booked the registrar office, the reception venue, bought the bridesmaid dresses and my dress and ordered my cake!

Next on my list is my shoes, although I'm struggling with this one. Mom says heels, I want trainers, especially since I have recently ruptured the muscle/tendons in the ball of my left foot and getting physio to fix it. So I think my compromise will be 1inch block heels for the ceremony and photographs and then trainers for the reception, but I am struggling to find any shoes I like with 1 inch block heels

hi im Katie, and I got engaged 2 weeks 2moz and ive been consumed with planning our wedding :D I already have my dress just cant seem to find a nice enough venue, the other half wants to have it in a forest.....not quite sure im happy with that but there u go lol, but we do have a wedding fair up in the peak district in a couple of weeks so going to make the most out of the day :D im soooo excited! anyone else just want to go and elope just so that ur married? lol

I told my mum I was wearing blue converse under my dress and that my bridesmaids were wearing flats and she looked at me like im crazy lol If I wear heels i'll be taller than H2B and that will just look stupid and my bridesmaids are tall aswell so they will end up being taller than all of us so decided it would be best all round if no1 wore them, still getting some weird looks when I mention it tho lol

Katie - I can't wear heels, I find it impossible to walk in them! And I have the same problem that I'd be taller than my H2B. I have told my mum flats all the way for me and she actually said it was the safest idea xD x

IEverything is still in planning stages atm, we have some stuff to pay off beforewe can start proper wedding planning. I am however looking in charity shops for decorations and things. I think thats such an awesome idea for your something blue! Im hoping that I can find a garter with a blue ribbon to incorporate something blue and new. Have you picked a theme yet? X

I gave in to the mother pressure and bought a pair of shoes, but I will definitely be getting my trainers for the reception!!!!!



And this means mom got her way on her 1 thing and the rest I can ignore now

the church and reception are booked, flowers ordered but the list is never ending. its all coming together but slowly ..... we have just over a year to go but it will soon be here ...... I havn't even found THE dress yet

hello sweety, congrats at finaly going for it

problem 1 - you can do it, go to your doctor about wanting to lose weight, they can set you up with a dietition and help you and get you set up in gym with coach to help, or else you can try the world of slimming etc , and/or zumba type think, but don't set yourself up for a fall, you can do it if you try really hard , but be realistic on what your willing to give up (choc, time with OH to work out etc)

problem 2 - don't choose "the dress" from internet, mag etc, go to a shop with a open mind and try stuff on , many many girls on here will tell you they had their heart set on a certain dress they saw online or whatnot, but when they tryed it It did not suit there body shape etc and the one they fell in love with in the end was something they never thought they would like. x
