Hi everyone :) my BF has 'unofficially' proposed, but we have told no family or friends yet, as he wants to get me an engagement ring first. It's so hard keeping it to myself! Looking to get married some time next year, but in really early stages so that could all change!

Hello everyone, my H2B proposed on 1st July, we have sorted venues for service and reception but I was just wondering on timings, what is the norm etc, if I get married at 1 o clock is that too late to enjoy the wedding breakfast ? Was thinking married at 1 reception at 3 ish night doo from 7 ish? What are people's tought's. xx

No its not too late! Alot of people including me get married later! Im getting married at 3 , dinner at 6, evening reception at 7.30/8( as that way you only have to feed them once! ;)

I got engaged at the top of the Eifel Tower in November last year and I'm getting married in March 2014. Venue booked and thats about it so far so thought I'd join for some tips and to see what I need to do still....which I know is lots!!

hi my names lynsey and im a newbie just joined a few days ago. I got engaged nearly 3 years ago now but have had a little boy since then so only just getting around to organising the wedding now!!!! not planning on having the big day until july 2015, we originally wanted a pagan syle wedding called a handfasting but seen as the are not legal we are looking at a registry office wedding or a civil ceremony somewhere and to have a handfasting at a later date, but really did like the idea of getting married outside in the center of a circle made up of all my close family and friends, but of course the weather in this country would be a huge factor lol really enjoying looking around this site for loads of little extra ideas . Excited bride!!!!!! :) :) :)

@simplysarah- wow what a lovely place to get engaged :o are you getting married all in one place? the day we set our date we had the church booked, reception venue booked, cake and photographer and dj booked. we havent got much further than that to be honest just booked flowers and chose and ordered my dress since then, we get married on 12th april so just under 8 months left now so we need to get a shift on lol. i made my own save the dates and invitations on the computer and saved us alot of money as we always said we would have handmade invitations but when came to it i decided to do them myself.

SECONDLY if you haven't a clue where to start please read a thread called "a brides checklist" this has an amazing list of exactly what to do and when, when your planning your wedding and is a BRILLIANT help! To find this thread go to the search above and type in the thread name as above and the thread will pop up for you :-)
THIRDLY when writing a thread please remember to use the search above first because most questions have been asked so there are many threads available that have some brilliant tips and advice in them that would be a shame to waste simply because you missed them.
FOURTHLY, to get the full benefit of the site you need to un-restrict them so the ladies can add you as friends and so they can put links on the wall if you’re trying to find something as they are not allowed in the forum. To un-restrict your page all you need to do is go to your wedding page by clicking the wedding button above. Then under your wedding countdown clock there is an edit button. Click that and it will take you to a page where all your details are, at the bottom is profile settings so just click that to public and your all set to go! :-)
And lastly JUST ENJOY BEING A MEMBER OF UKB AND PLANNING YOUR WEDDING DAY!

Just went dress shopping this weekend! I was soooo nervous I couldn't eat breakfast Saturday morning, I think this part for me was the realisation I'm actually getting married and I got a bit overwhelmed! Hi, I'm a newbie. Myself & my parter have been together for 11 years now & we have finally decided to set the date, 29th may 2016. It sounds so far away but we want to have plenty of time to save, we refuse to get into debt for our wedding. Plus side is that I can pass the time by making a lot of the wedding items, invitations, table decorations, button holes, etc.

Hi everyone - I'm new on this site and thought I'd just say a quick hello! My fiancé and I got engaged in Barcelona in June on our 9th anniversary. We have booked our wedding for September 6th 2014, so only a year to go on Friday. I've got my dress which is amazing, I was only supposed to be window shopping and seeing what kind of style I liked but when I tried it on it was meant to be. We made and sent out save the dates last week as we live away from both our families but still really in the list and pinterest stages lol! I plan on making everything I can including paper and fabric flowers and all stationery to keep costs down but also because I'm a bit of a crafter and love making things.
