Im new here too. I have been with my Fiancé Alan for 8 years at the end of this month and we got engaged on 18.10.13 we have booked the wedding for 15.08.15 cant believe we are engaged never mind set a date.
I am one very happy lady but me head is full of all sorts of stuff to do with the wedding. The package we have is incredible and has a lot of added extras including canapés arrival drinks, 4 course meal. piper, dj, its all in a hotel so the ceremony is going to be in the conservatory. I just love it.
Im only having the one Bridesmaid (My sister) we have went a bit out with the venue so need to cut back somewhere :p
looking forward to getting to know everyone. xx

Hello everyone....so excited to be very newly engaged - less than 48hrs ago, Michael proposed to me in the place we met, we have only been together for 7 months but neither of us have any doubts about it being too soon, despite a few negative comments from 'friends'. We have already decided when and where the big day will be as i know things can get booked up way in advance and am very happy to know that the chosen venue is free on our chosen date.

Hi everyone! This is my first ever post! I am getting married to the man of my dreamd on the 15th September next year and I cannot wait! We have been together for 2 years and engaged for 1 already cannot believe where time has gone! We already booked venue, caters, photographer and close to booking flowers and cake! Congrats bride2be, your wedding is very soon and I would very much advise you ordering your dress asap , maybe places take around 9 months to produce there dresses and then you need around 6 weeks of fittings!

Hi! I'm Ruth, and I have been engaged since my birthday just over a month ago! It came as a total surprise and we've been excited ever since. We've only been together for about 8 months, but I've never been closer to anyone in my life and we are already cohabiting together. I'm getting a little bit over my head, as I'm planning everything already (a few years in advance!) but it does give us time to finish University and save up enough before the big day arrives :).
Our families are both super supportive and are both eager to get on-board. They're also planning to help out a little with finance costs. We've already planned who our wedding party will be and got a draft of the budgeting, guest list, venue and dresses, but there is still a lot to go through!
Everyone here seems super friendly and the site itself seems to be a really big help for brides-to-be, so I'm really excited to be a part of this community :). Congratulations, everyone!

Hey hun, we got engaged nearly 2 years ago now, but are still not getting married till summer 2015 due to saving up! Just gives you plenty of time to decide what you really want!. I would advuse from experience thi with this ling to go do nit ask people to be in your wedding paety yet as expesialy as your at uni so at some point will leave , some fruendship will wane and you may start some new ines!

I'm CJ, 27 and I've been with my fella for nearly 8 years; we've been engaged since September. We're getting hitched on the 26th of July 2014 and I'm starting to feel the pressure! I've joined here today to get little tid bits of advice here and there - it's fair rough planning a wedding around being a second year Psychotherapy student and only having (now) 8 months to plan most of it (I've actually joined here instead of carrying on with an essay I'm supposed to be doing oops!).

My name is Emily and I met Allan 7.5 years ago. We had a few ups and downs but I can finally start planning. We are due to go ring shopping next time he is home as he works away doing security in Iraq so it is not strictly official as we are not telling people just yet ;) (he is planning with me though, so it's not just me being eager lol). It will happen next year (2014) but as he works away it is difficult to work out a date as I never know when he will be home! Because of this, I think I will try and go for a "last minute" all inc package as I also want to keep to a very tight/strict budget, but still have a a full day with our closest friends and family, all under one roof, but I don't really know where to start as to the time if year, when to start getting quotes, do I get a dress first so I have it if I do book venue/date last minute? Any ideas/suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. x

Hi Lana, thank you. I am sure he will be able to sort something with work, it's just so hard to decide on the actual time of year to book it for. I think I will sit him down when he is next home to get something set, and maybe go and talk to a few venues to find out what the best they can offer is. I'm hoping its in my favour to be flexible (providing we can be flexible with his work though I am sure they can be as it is all contract.

I am new on here, not so newly engaged. I asked my Fiance to marry me on 29.02.2012, being leap year and all (plus I like to be in control and couldn't have him beat me to it =D ), we have just recently set our date and paid the first part of our deposit (yipeee), We are getting married on 24.07.2015 and I am soooo excited, I have so much planned already (I've had my dress designed for MONTHS!)
