i do my jackets in the microwave at work for ease. At home however i do them in the oven. I always cut a cross in the top of the potato, from one side to the other and from end to end. Then using a sharp knife or a fork i make little holes around the edge. I do this whether cooking in the microwave or oven. How long, all depends on the size of the potato, but i usually do the microwave for 10 mins, or the oven for about 45 to an hour. The type of potatos you use can vary the flavour of the jacket as well. Maris piper and king edward potatos are good all rounders for making roasts, mash, chips or jackets.

spaggetti hoops are free. You can also have tuna (mix with fat free yogurt or fromage frais instead of mayo) SW recipy for coronation chicken is free and yummy, i have made that a couple of times. You could use a healthy A and have cream cheese such as philli light.
Spaggetti hoops it is. Im saving my tuna for tomorrow when I have a tuna salad.
Thanks blondmumma its in the ovan now. I put it on 200 fan assisted hope thats ok!

should be fine hun, like i said depending on size of potato will vary how long it takes to cook but mine usually take around 45 minutes. If they still feel hard in the middle then i put them back in for longer.

Octbride - you can cheat with the jackets by putting them in the microwave for 5 or so mins then in the oven, doesnt take as long as oven alone but they will still go nice and crispy and will be cooked right through!
I weight way too much - even though im a size 12-14 i have a bmi of 27 :( I know i prob have a fair bit of muscle but its depressing looking at the scales

I've managed to stick to my calorie goal for the last 4 days, which I'm quite proud of cause we've still got christmas chocolate and stuff that MIL2B piled us with and I've resisted even with H2B munching on it quite happily in front of me! Hopefully see some loss when I manage a weeks worth.

my mums done both. She didnt lose on sw but did on ww and defo prefers it. Healthier too as you have to eat all the nutrients. Sw makes you limit key nutrients, cant be healthy

I've been doing slimming world since September and managed to get my club 10 and my 1 and half stone award 2 weeks before Xmas. Didn't do it while kids were off school but back yesterday and i had put on 3lb my first gain since i started so wasn't to upset want to get to size 10 for the wedding so have about 2 and half stone to lose maybe a bit more my ogle weight is 10 stone.
i have done both sw and ww and much prefer sw find it alot easier i dont feel sw limits key nutrients suzky on extra easy you can have anything you want really as long as meat is extra lean only things that are limited are healthy extras which are dairy and bread/cereal which are measured so you get your daily requirments

Ah MrsM - at least you went back! It'll soon be off you. How long is it since you last went? I find the new plan really easy to stick to and the filling and healthy days - you can eat loads of free foods (anything in green in your packs plus a few extras) until you're comfortably full so you have a few options there hun.
Anyway, for anyone who can't affod the classes, apparently the Mail have copies of the WW plans this weekend (I think) and the Mirror have the SW plans. Worth a go.

I think a lot of people are maybe judging sw by past stories and without really knowing the extra easy plan. Lets see, today oi had:
Breakfast: banana and rasberries with fat free natural yogurt Mid morning: Packet of rivita minis and an orange Lunch: Jacket potato with baked beans, ham and salad, followed by a kiwi Afternoon snack: Hard boiled egg and satsuma. Dinner: Chicken tikka masala, rice, mushroom bhaji and mint raita (all home made to sw recipes)
My syn intake today was nil. With no measuring and no feelings of hunger or feeling deprived.

Good luck to all the ladies that have joined a group be it WW or SW, you're doing it your way and I have no doubt we'll all be skinny minnies in no time :)
Plan went to pot for me last night, warmed up mince pies (rolling in at 11.5 syns each!) with a bit of cream uh oh! So being extra good today, going to plan in some extra body magic this weekend by walking back from the garage which is about a mile each way as brum has its MOT. Sausage Casserole for tea using WW sausages and lots of veggies! That will be my syns for today though.

I've done WW before so think I may go back while they have free registration and a free meeting offer & I have a free 2 week online trial. I'll have to travel to meetings for WW whereas SW has meetings across the road at the Village Hall but it's in the evening so I don't really want to take my 10 yo daughter along or get her involved as she's been teased for being fat (although she's not, she's just matured & fully developed & the other girls are still little girls). Good luck everyone!!

I just had stir fried kale with garlic and ham strips for lunch, followed by an entire galia melon - last night we had home made beef burgers with salad and SW chips, all free/superfree - I did have fat free Activia aside ready for pudding but we couldn't face them we'd eat so much!
CommentAuthornatalie2614
Weve got the colmans Season n Shake Sausage Casserole for tea tonight, using WW sausages which are only 1/2 a syn each and the sachet mix is 6.5 for the lot, but if I'm splitting it, then its less syns :D So a fairly low syned yummy meal with lots of mixed veg thrown in too for my super free. It looks delish!

Loving this post. I've still at least one stone to blast by August, but the sooner the better, to be honest I would like to lose more than one stone, but one as the minium and I'l be happy :) I added a photo of myself to my weight loss photo album, it was a night out before christmas, I was wearing super control pants, and the dress is misleading but I am proud of the difference compared to the first pic in the album!

Well I had a proper tea and proper lunch today. I had 40g pasta with one tin of gru tuna with beans and tomato (6 pro points) and a yog, and for tea I found sea bass in a salt and pepper coating amazingly only 6 points despite looking huge, jkt potato and steamed veggies. Just had a mini twister too as I have to have a pud. Feel a lot better for it too as defo didnt eat what I should have done yesterday. Going out for tea tomo too so will have a good meal as i think its 16 points but under 600 cals for bella prawn and chilli spagetti. I love that meal and cant wait. Just need to think of a healthy lunch tomo.

Good luck Lofty, the way I think is yes it's hard to lose to weight and sore to excerise and I'd love nothing more than take-away and a slice of cake but then I try to think how proud of myself I'll be when I have a body I'm proud of, and that feeling will be a million times better than the brief satisfaction of indulging in something naughty. Saying that I wish I could remeber my own ethos more often, I'd be a size 8 in not time lol!

well I got on the scales yesterday and had a MAJOR suprise! I LOST WEIGHT! I thought I hadnt lost any over xmas, but since november when i went to the weight loss surgery clinic I have lost 13 and 1/2 pounds! I am totally amazed, and cant believe how much of a booster this has given me!
I Started doing zumba on the wii, first day i did 15 minutes just dance and 10 zumba, yesterday 20 minutes zunba, today 25 minutes zumba. I Have found doing zumba in the morning, first thing, seems to give me an energy boost and put me in a much better sprightlier mood all day.... whereas when I have done just dance on the wii before i did it in the evening, and was nearly always too tired and achey by then so hated it and skipped it etc.
I already feel so much better, i walked from the town center to the hospital thursday, a walk that in november took me 45 minutes (including numerous stops), and yesterday took me 20 minutes with no stops!
such a boost to see the weight coming off and the improvements.... off shopping with my little fella today, he was 8 on dec 23rd and wants to go spend his birthday and xmas money, and I am not even going to book a mobility scooter, i am going to try and walk it!
Remember : To the world you may be just one person,
BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x

Janie well done, that's a massive achievement in that time, no wonder it has given you a confidence boost! I think I might invest in a zumba or just dance game too, sounds more fun than the keep fit games I've got at the moment!
