I was 12 stone 12lb when i started in october..... I last weighed last tuesday at 11.4 :D I struggle with boredom eating as well, but make sure i have a load of syn free snacks laying around. Hard boiled eggs, pickled onions, cherry tomatos etc.... i make my own syn free humous as well to accompany carrot sticks or even a couple of ryvita minis. I tackle the sweet tooth by shoving a load of frozen berries in to the food processor with fat free natural yogurt and some sweetner to make slimming worl fruit sorbet (a recipe i discovered in one of the books) Failing all else, today i have eaten a whole bunch of seedless grapes while at work lol

I start work again on the 9th so should lose a few pounds running around the ward lol. Iv heard its a busy ward so Im expecting to loose a bit on there...
Well done blondmumma - dont know if it's still 'free' but when I did SW I used to make a quiche using cottage cheese and eggs (although I hate cottage cheese - it was so yummy) and it would make loads. - always good for a little snack.
Yep, I really struggle with snacking and boredom eating. Hoping having loads of work to do during the day so go back to normal daytime eating habits and using the wii in the evenings will stop me from pigging out.

Janie, i read in the daily mail online today (my sw consultant posted in on fb) about a woman who lost 7 stone i think, and if you read the magazines there are some amazing stories, including a man who lost 12 stone!! So it is do-able :D
I am spending the evening playing the wii, we had a game of bowling with the kids, then a 9 hole round of golf with them, now they are in bed h2b and i are playing bowling. I just grinned and told him that he was helping me get into my wedding dress, and its great doing something together other than watching tv or playing on seperate computers lol

I was back on the SW wagon on Saturday after putting 4.5lb on over xmas! I dont mind though i really enjoyed myself and let the mince pies get the better of me! I moved house at the weekend so there was lotsa body magic there, and my partner is cooking SW friendly meals for us both, with lots of veggies. So theres no reason for me not to have a good loss tomorrow when I get on them scales. Actually quite looking forward to weigh in for a change!

I am limited on how much exericse i can do, i have arthritis. I do as much as i can and then rest and then do more later. I Have tried ww, sw, xenical, the gym etc etc, nothing works long term. I see the surgery as a second chance at life/
Good luck to everyone, we can ALL do it!

I managed to get through xmas and still have a loss so hopefully it hasnt caught up with me lol
CommentAuthornatalie2614
Janie, theres someone at my group who was told she needed a gastric bypass, she was petrified at the thought of surgery and joined SW instead. She hadnt tried it before so agreed to try it. Shes lost almost 5 stone since June and shes such an inspiration to us all, she got our Woman of the Year award and it was very well deserved. At least you can hold your head up high and say you have tried every diet, and I hope that surgery gives you the new lease of life that you want x x

thank you natalie, thats so sweet! Honestly this was MY last option, i was offered it 4 years ago and said no, since then i gaines another 3 stones weight, my diabetes is out of control, i developed sleep apnea and all sorts. EVERY clinic i go to at the hospital, from immunology, to diabetic, to sleep apnea, etc ALL agree this will be the best thing for my health, and I was even told I would be lucky to make it to 40 alive!
When i was in my 20's i was told i was a pretty fit n well 20 something year old, depsite the weight, but it would be a different story in my 30's...and they were right!
My kidneys are damaged, my blood pressure sky high, cholesterol high but lowering as i change my diet, and all sorts.
I feel like a walking medical dictionary!

Awwww Janie, I dont know what to say..... but would still recommend the sw plan even while you wait for the surgery, as it is not a diet as such but a healthier way of life with a great support network a long the way.

my pernter went to sw for ages, and her mum still goes years later. we have a few mags and a starter pack. I cant actually aford the fiver every week, but between my fiancee and her mum they pretty much know the ins and outs, it is how i lost weight in november before my bypass review. I go back in april and need to have lost 6 pounds by then..... i reckon i can do a stone or more myself easily.
I did look at it as a change of eating rather than a diet and was doing FAB......until xmas came along :Z
love the syn free chips, and am depserate to try the curries in alst months mag!

Apologies for lack of measurements, i kind of use my eyes but my tikka is as follows:
Fat free natural yogurt (i would guess about 4 - 5 tbsp, more if you are making a big batch) Chicken breast ( I use 1 per person) Chopped in to square chunks. Tikka powder (about 2 tbsp, though more if you want it stronger) Cumin ( I give it a good sprinkle, would guess about 1 tsp) 1 red onion tin of chopped tomatos Clove of garlic (finely chopped or crushed)
I mix the spices in to the yogurt with the garlic and add the chicken (or lamb) and leave to sit for 30 minutes in the fridge.
Chop the red onion and put in an oven proof dish add the tinned tomatos and then add the meat in the yogurt mix, stir it all to mix it together then cook in the oven for approx 45 minutes..... until the meat is cooked and the sauce is thick and creamy when you stir it instead of liquidy.
I serve with rice and finely chopped fresh tomato and red onion salad.

I have been a follower of WW for some time now and I have lost 2stone with it. This is my 2nd day of following it to the letter I nearly fainted today.
I had my breakfast (weetabix & banana) at 9am and by 11am I was shaking and feeling faint. My friend made me a sugary hot drink and buscuit and I stated to feel better. It was really scary Im just wondering if thats normal???
I went to bed last night starving last night and this morning I was very hungry and the breakfast didn't fill me at all. I dont know whether to keep at it and hope my body adapts to eating less or try something new...

that doesnt sound right at all to me, youre not diabetic are you? It sounds jsut like the attacks i get when my sugars drop. Have you had any other problems at all?
You need to find foods that are good for you but keep you fuller longer. I used to so love porridge, but cant eat that now as has gluten in, and I cant afford the non gluten stuff.
It doesnt sound right at all though

I had a dodgy glucose test before Chrismas but I wouldn't say it was high; it was 6. The doctor wasn't too worried but wants a fasting one done. He said there is no rush as he isn't overly worried as I had just eaten before having th test. Iv never had any health problems before and I managed to lose 2 stone on this diet before.
Im wondering if the stress has something to do with it too. I have a presentation to give on friday and its really stressing me.
I had a large sub for dinner and I still feel full from that, It was huge and was full og meat and cheese.. If I get hungry I will have a ww meal and some fruit.

it could be that youre borderline diabetic which can be the case for years. the stress certainly wont help sugar levels, even in non diabetics....... though to be honest ONE finger test wouldnt be enough to give a diagnosis either way i wouldnt think.
Hope youre feeling ok now and that it doesnt happen again

It was a blood test at the hospital not a capillary blood sugar, never had one of those. Well not for diagnostic purpose anyway lol I did it to myself to prove my competance of doing them to my mentor on a placement lol.
I will have the fasting sugar when I go back to work on monday. Till then I will just watch what I eat!

Oct.... i hope all turns out to be ok health wise. However imo a "diet" that leaves you feeling hungry is not a suitable way to loose weight and maintain that loss, you dont want to be hungry for the rest of your life do you?
I got 1lb off today and was awarded slimmer of the week :) Lots and lots of fruit for me, though with 80 days till I do, i have decided to up my game and will be completing food diaries again to try and boost my loss (as i find i am less likely to sneak things in if i am writing it down lol)

What is it that you find confusing? I know the old plans used to be fairly confusing, but now the extra easy plan is just that, extra easy! Unlimited "free food": pasta, rice, potato, lean meat, fish, poultry, fruit and veg even baked beans and fat free yogurt etc. Healthy extras, these you weigh or measure (though there are grab and go choices as well if you dont have time to weigh or measure. These include milk, cheese, cereals, bread etc.... And syns for your treats. Th new member pack is fantastic, i got mine last week (its a new one out) and its full of useful tips, food directory etc... Even h2b manages to follow it (he isnt a member but is doing it at home out of support for me)

you can join online, you choose a healthy a and a healthy b each day. These vary, i usually have a bag of rivita minis, or 2 alpen light bars. Both these choices count as a healthy b, also for example 2 slices of wholemeal bread from a 400g loaf is also a healthy b choice. Healthy a choices are dairy, so i think 30g of cheddar OR a certain amount of milk. There are grab and go choices which include baby bell, philli pots etc.. (im not sure of healthy a's as i dont eat cheese or milk) If you drink tea or coffee etc then your milk would come out of your healthy a choice. Syns are between 5 and 15 a day depending on how much you want to loose and how quickly.
