Yay to all for the weightloss ladies :o).

So I went to the impromptu weigh-in on Saturday morning, I lost 1lb. Wasn't sure how to feel about it to be truthful, but I guess a loss is a loss so am gonna go with a small woot to me lol.

Have had a lil bit of a on/off moment with the points yesterday and today, not sure quite what I have been doing. It has been a bit hit & miss. So as of tomorrow am gonna be horrendously strict with myself, have locked all the good stuffs (even the WW nicee snacks, as I think I have become a tad addicted to them lol and may be using them as an excuse to pick, hmmm) in the cupboard of no return in the hallway and have planned my brekkie and lunch for the next couple of days and also tomorrows evening meal.
Hopefully this will kick my wobbly bum into touch before Thursdays weigh-in.

Also got some exercise stuffs planned on the wii and shall be checking out the local swimming pool.. eeeps!

I am determined to get atleast a 2lb shift this week dagnabbit :oD

Aw thats not to bad Floateelight! considering the week you've had a loss is a loss! and tbh I know exactly how you feel - was this your first meeting after starting it? when i first started everyone was losing like 5-6lb in their first wk, and being bigger myself I thought woo!! my first week i lost 1lb... i was gutted!!! then after a few months decided to start exercise as everyone was having great losses from that, the first wk me and mom started doing exercise we both put on 2lb... we were again gutted!! everyone is different in how they lose and exercise and you just have to keep telling yourself its all good, at least we're losing! doesn't matter how long it takes, its in the right direction!!

But still definitely a woot for you :) well done!!

aw bless you! see i try not to buy even the WW snacks because even though they are less pointed and 'WW' they are still exactly that, a 'snack' so you find yourself picking at those rather than real snacks...so all or nothing for me!! Sounds like your very motivated and determined this wk, and Im sure you will have a great week!!

    Good luck! xx

i have had such a rubbish week this week, im dredding weigh in tonight :( i weighed myself on friday and i was down to 13st 7, weighed myself today and im back upto 13st 9, thats only 1lb off from last week, i expect by time i get weighed tonight ill be about 13st 11lb. i have just lost all motivation, my h2b doesnt help. ive got an ab circle por so gonna try and go on that for 3 mins a day for a week then put it up a minute for the next few weeks then higher it up so its harder, hopefully that might help.
    really hope i get a - tonight

Lala - It can be a bit damaging to the old psyche to see and hear everyone losing greater amounts but am not gonna let it stop me. Yup, it was my 1st meeting after joining. Couldn't stay for the group tho as had the boy in the car and he wasn't feeling too fab.
They do say that it can be harder when there is a smaller amount to lose to get the body kick started at first and then with my meds and food limitations it adds a bit to my downward cycle if you know what I mean, but will get there.

H2b is being as groovie as possible and has been encouraging me, even saying that once I have started up on a bit of an exercise routine and am feeling comfy with what I can do, he says he will bend me into loads of shapes to help with the process.. ooo-err missus lol.. He is a qualified martial arts instructor so don't think he was being too ummm rude rofl ;o), he has said when the time comes we could try some light jogging and see how my body takes it. (Just the thought brings me out in a sweat lol.)

kimi - fingers crossed for you. Try and be positive (as hard as that is) :o).

Am looking into some of the exercise stuff at the local sport centre and will be doing the wii fitness things I have (plus some others I have got), and going swimming, so shall be easing into the exercise malarky. Has anyone heard of/done 'Slim in 6'? I saw it a while ago and am not sure if it would be a good one. Can't do the 30DS as is too high impact.

    Hope everyone is well :o).

You will indeed get there Floateelight don't worry yourself! the main thing is your losing!! and that is all that matters, especially if you don't have much to go!! haha aw well its always a bonus when OH is on board, but if he is qualified martial arts instructor then you get flexible lady, and anyway ooo-err is the best form of exercise / calorie burner so :p

Kimi - hope you got yourself a - tonight, even if 1/2 or 1lb it is still a good achievement! and if you know you've had a bad week then losing or staying the same will give you that bit of positivity you need... i know it is hard to stay motivated all the time, but you will get there, and it will be fab, just try and keep positive. vent your frustrations out on here and we will do our utmost to keep you on the straight and narrow and pick you right back up if and when you need :)

So i started level 3 of the 30DS today, means only 2 weeks left then finally completing a exercise task I have set myself and usually fail at!! Haven't had the best wk and again don't see myself losing but really beat my self up over it last night and was so low & can feel another low night coming, OH keeps giving me big hugs and saying ive done great so far and won't be as bad as i think this wk, im just sick of telling myself to sort it and then blowing it over 1 day you know?? If i was as determined mentally as i am when i say it to you guys on here or when I give advice/ tips i really need to listen to myself, just dont understand why im not. and no way am i getting to goal before xmas which is what i REALLY wanted AAAAAAGH!!!!!!!

haha aww jackie don't be silly. I do know the feeling though. Had a bigger lunch than planned yesterday so decided to be strict on myself and as a result not have a proper dinner, did it do anything. NO, im still the same weight as i was last night... I am NOT looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow at all. One step forward, two steps back. Ahhh! can tell its going to be one of THOSE weeks :( ugh.
I was looking forward to starting Level 3 yesterday but seriously, it really just does feel like its such a waste, no change to my body and definitely no change to my weight. will plod along and do it in a bit but seriously...point?!!

Has anyone done the chemical diet? does it work? I came across it on a website the other day, you can only do it for a week at a time, i was going to try it before Christmas but wanted to know if it worked or not.

The menu for the week is as follows

Day 1 Breakfast 1 slice dry toast and grilled tomatoes
    Lunch Fresh fruit (any amount)
Dinner 2 hard boiled eggs, salad, grapefruit

Day 2 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch Roast chicken (any amount) & tomatoes
    Dinner Grilled steak and salad

Day 3 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch 2 boiled eggs and tomatoes
Dinner 2 Grilled lamb chops, celery & cucumber

Day 4 Breakfast 2 slices dry toast, 2 poached eggs
    Lunch fresh fruit (any amount)
Dinner 2 hard boiled eggs, salad, grapefruit

Day 5 Breakfast 1 slice dry toast, 2 poached eggs
Lunch 2 poached eggs & tomatoes
Dinner Fresh or tinned fish and salad

Day 6 Breakfast 1 boiled egg, 1 glass grapefruit juice
    Lunch Fresh fruit (any amount)
    Dinner Roast chicken, cabbage, carrots

Day 7 Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes
    Lunch 2 Poached eggs& spinach
    Dinner Grilled steak & salad

    NOTE

    Abstain from anything not mentioned.
Eat only what is shown or do without.
    No substitutions allowed.
    No eating between meals

This has to be followed to the letter. let me know, or if anyone fancy's trying it out with me im up for it :) It claims you can lose upto a stone in the week, which to me sounds silly and not sustainable, but i'll give it go out of curiosity!! xxx

You could do it online if you have scales at home? Not sure if you can weigh in fortnightly, you might need to still pay the £5 per week, unless there is an allowance for shift workers? You could go down as one of them x

Natalie: Slimming World is good as it's sustainable and fairly easy to follow once you get the hang of it.

What I'm doing at the moment is boring old calorie-counting: I want to lose a stone in total by New Year's Eve, but also keep it off and maintain it. So far I've lost 5.5 pounds in 3 weeks (was aiming for 1.5 pounds a week so pleased with that) simply by sticking to 1500 calories average per day. I have an app on my phone which allows me to search for or scan items and adds up the calories for me, and I can input details about exercise too (I never do any though lol). I tend to 'bank' calories by under-eating by say 100 calories a day 6 days a week, then allowing myself one 'blow-out day' of 2100 calories (usually a Friday) where I can have a treat like a few drinks for example. I like it as it educates you about the calorie, fat, salt, sugar etc content of foods, and I find I make healthier choices as they go further (eg I can fill up on veg and lean meat as they're low in calories, rather than reaching for a bag of crisps which will satisfy me for all of 10 minutes!) plus I like that nothing is 'forbidden': if I want a Thornton's chocolate bar for example I just factor it in :-)

Natalie I agree with Barbie slimming world is very good and even though the weight loss may be slower than a chemical diet its easier to maintain. I went back to SW after a Few months break and had my first weigh in tonight. I lost 3 llbs and am delighted. Good motivation to keep going now!

Natalie - I think the app is probs myfitnesspal, which alot of us ladies use, like myself, i use it alongside WW.

SW & WW are both extremely good healthy eating programmes, may be slow and steady but gives you the lasting effects that other 'diet's' may not & with these you can also eat whatever you want, but within moderation! so nothing is forbidden, its more your mental state and how you go about it on a daily basis! xx

Last session wasnt so great. Im having it for my fear of spiders. He asked me to remember my earliest memory of being afraid of them and tried to work through that with me. that was fine. Then he asked me to think to a point in the near future, and imagine myself as the spider, i couldnt - started shaking, apparently went really white, and breathing went really erratic. We finished there. Hes trying to get me to use coping mechanisms rather than cure me as its such a deep and longstanding phobia, alongside getting me to self-hypnotise to deal with the situations on command. See how tonight goes.

Im getting better with them, I can stop myself from screaming when I see one and going into a blind panic, by calming myself and putting myself into a relaxed state. If thats the level I get to to cope then its been worth my while doing it.

Aw thats good Jackie...my mom did RC back in the day and when I was younger I went to the odd aerobics class with her after the meeting!! what made you decide to change?

Well i stayed the same last night, but thats ok! im so happy with that, means im newly focussed and ready for the week ahead.sat down with OH last night, poured my heart out to him, told him to be strict with me & worked out our meals for the week etc so I got no excuses!! we got no big things this weekend or anything like that so no reason to stray!
My only concern is when I see my Best Mate, she knows im trying to be good but I always falter under her wing, im seeing her tonight, but its just that TONIGHT so know straight off first thing we'll do is food and I know where I want to go and for once it'll be somewhere she wants too! shes very fussy when comes to food and usually end up at the p hut or maccyds or places like that, she doesnt do cafe/coffee house sarnis/paninis etc but she does do the piri piri place so will suggest there!
I know its not her fault, its all down to me so hopefully my brain is in the right place this week!!

    Hey everyone,

I'm a newbie to the forum. Been on the site for quite a while but just been so busy trying to sort everything for the big day!!

I am also trying to loose weight before my wedding, I only have 78 days and I'm starting to panic!! I was doing celebrity slim but found the shakes disgusting so couldn't do that for longer than 2 weeks, I did loose 7lb doing this but put it all back on when I stopped. I have since had gastic band hypnotherapy which cost over £100 and this has also done nothing!

I am losing hope now and frightened to death that I will look horrible in all my photos. I dont know what is stopping me from being motivated, I've done strict diets before and was very determined and had great willpower but for some reason I dont have that right now and its now that I need it.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any hints or tips to help out, I dont like exercise, I know this will speed it up but I dont want to go running on my own in the dark (I work late) and its too cold to go swimming :(

If anyone has any easy low calorie meal plans or anything that would help i'd really appreciate it!

    Thank yoooooou

    Kaz x

jackie - go you for making a positive change and gaining a bit of new motivation :o).

Hi Kaz, this is a good thread for support so you have defo come to the right place. Only advice I could possibly give is start slowly even walking can be a good form of exercise (even if is when you are doing the shopping or to the local shops), or slap on some music when doing the housework and bop about the place to get the heart rate pumping, it all helps a bit. Plus puts you in a good mood vibe for everything else.
Am new to this whole thing really and have recently started to do weight watchers (still getting my head around it), but there are women in my group who have lost stones, and I know a few who have done the same on the slimming world plan as well.

As for me, well I had weigh-in yesterday morning and well that 1lb I lost last week, I put back on, despite being fairly good over the few days between weigh-ins. Left me feeling a bit peeved tbh as I had gone in feeling as though I had lost a little, I have been trying to have at least 2 meals a day and keep as best as I can within my points (a couple of days where this hasn't happened, but it has been a ridiculously stressful time due to my son being ill, culminating in a trip to hospital straight after weigh-in yesterday with of all people MY MOTHER!), I had 32 points left from my weeklies and had earned myself 14 activity points again since saturday.

My leader has said for me to really and try to stick within my daily points and not go over at all and next week will see what is going wrong if nothing happens again. I am gonna pre-plan ALL the meals down to the last point and as am going food shopping tomorrow am writing a list out that is so unbelievably precise it is almost ridiculously convoluted.
If it doesn't happen on the next weigh-in I think I will not only cry I will probably give up.

I spoke to Ash and showed him 30 day shred and he said it looked really good as it worked all the areas in one rather than in individual sections (which can be good but not if doing a short routine), he said as long as I am careful he thinks I should defo get it rather than the other one I mentioned, so we are picking it up at the weekend. So am gonna add that into the mix.

Sorry for the ramble just feeling a bit pleh, methinks!

Thanks Natalie, I am feeling so determined this week, think I have had words with myself as well as pouring out to mom and OH... going to see what I can do before xmas, 4wks of being good, should manage something!!

I have to agree with Floatee - small and slow changes, slow and steady wins the race!! even if your just running up and down stairs in between ad breaks and things like that. and just watching the portions of your meals. Thats the best way to do it. things like the utensils you use - does your plate have an inner rim? silly i know but when i first started WW i had square rimless plates so food was going to the edge, else i didnt feel i had enough on my plate - i was a heffa - now i have normal round plates with an inner rim line so if any food goes out that rim its too much... sounds silly but no diets work!! everything and anything within moderation...and spreading your treats out and things like that.
first off though, this is a very supportive and helpful thread so you have done the right thing here!

Floateelight - don't give up at all ok... stick to a rigid week and take it from there. you will probably find its your body getting used to the food change, and sometimes takes 2 - 3 weeks before a good week is noticed? Dont give up hun, im sure there is a reasonable explanation, are you weighing and tracking EVERYTHING correctly? do you it online or out the book?

keep at it ladies, very proud of you all xx

Awww Elliekitty take a breath and relax you will drop those couple of pounds am sure, you have done absolutely faboo :o).

Lula - I use both the lil green book and online too to double check (plus cross check it all against the books they gave me to make sure I am not cheating if you get me), I list everything (even the bad things), create stuff that isn't on there so that I know it is all tickiteeboo. I just don't seem to be able to do it it seems. I hope you are right hun, as I will really lose the will to continue. My body just sucks and can't do things normally.

I did get a moment to buy the 'My Recipe' folder and the inserts to give me some ideas as to some full on meals to make, that we all can eat, as even though I am pointing the meals I create and they are keeping within my 28 a day etc I am losing the momentum with things that are exciting, so am hoping that will revive this weeks motivation and help drop some pounds. If not then I shall simply cut off a limb prior to weigh-in, am sure that one of my arms must weigh at least a 3lbs.. Pahahahahaha!

    See am still trying :o)

Oh i am sure you are doing it correctly and cross checking everything and all that, dont get me wrong! you sound more determined than me and i cross check it all too.. the only reason i was asking is because obviously if go in books alone there are some things like sliced bread for example that don't just double up, one slice is 2, but 2 slices may be 5 not 4... and its little things like that, that can cause issues... also what sorts of meals are you having?
A girl i was talking to a few months back at our meeting, was like 5lb off goal and couldnt shift, she'd just stay the same each wk, etc.She was having her 26 dailies, no weeklies, exercising constantly, everything like that and was baffled as to why not losing. Turns out she was having toast for breakfast, pasta for lunch and rice for dinner, nearly every day. just carbs carbs carbs... so i said go away and for one week, change one meal to something carb free... low and behold she came back the week or 2 weeks later and lost for the first time in about 6 months.
It may be that you've started the exercise and the eating portions correctly and done it all in one go and your body just needs time to adjust a bit more if that makes sense?

thats the thing hun, dont give up hope just try and keep going and it will sort itself out in time! the week i started exercising after our 'exercise' talk and the fact so many people lose more with exercise, i put on! so i was absolutely gutted, but it does take a while for your body to adjust but im sure you will get there, and if it is a struggle sit down and the answer will come out eventually somewhere on your tracker or something!
feel free to pm me or find me on bookface, your not alone and if need any advice etc then im always around!! ive officially done WW for 2 years now so! haha. keep at hun chin up xxxx

Awww thankees hun, you really are groovie ya know. Shall look you up on FB :o).

Ash got me a McDonald's last night as A) I hadn't eaten and B) he decided I needed cheering up, bless him. I wrote all that down, so I can look back and see where I went wrong with yesterdays food lol. While we were eating it he looked through the recipe folder and made the comment 'I can eat all this stuff, might need to join up afterwards though as I would be the size of a house'.

As for the meals, we have pastas (like spag bol, lasagne, meatballs etc), meats with potato and veg, salads, chicken dishes, fish. The kids will have desserts but I don't tend to. For breakfast I tend to have a WW yoghurt, fruit and lunches it varies. Today I just made myself a salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, a few slices of wafer thin chicken, a tablespoon of salad cream all chopped up a mixed together.
Each day it varies as to what I have but I try and have as much fruit/water as possible, and I don't tend to eat bread very often as it bloats me out but when I do it is wholemeal. I do like my chocolate but try not to have it too often as it makes me feel a bit sick tbh.

haha im not that great but i saw your friend request so thought id quickly hop back on & see if you had replied!

The main thing is you wrote it all down and that in itself is the right thing to do so good on you there!
Right ok with everything you say you have been eating, then you are doing nothing wrong, you are varying all your meals, eating the right foods, still having your treats when you want them, but YOU are choosing when and when not to, which is the best way! as your not denying yourself anything and giving yourself the control to decide when is time for you to have a treat and when it isnt! everything in moderation. I make sure I have as little bread as possible especially the 2 days before my weigh in, i tend to avoid heavy meals on mondays and tuesdays, still eat plenty but stick to smaller rice/pasta portion on a monday & fish/potato meal on a Tues night before my weigh in on a weds... also im naughty and have breakfast on a weds but thats it, don't eat again until i get home after my 6.30 weigh in on the night! thats just all psychological stuff really!

Actually, before you started on your 'weight loss journey' as the leader would say, did you tend to drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit? because if its a new thing, over the last couple of weeks you might find its alot more fluid retention/water weight thats waiting to come off?

I don't normally do this but as you will see on my photo's on FB there are pretty much none below my waist pre 2011, and there are very few of me as the fatty that i was... I have my bad weeks, my bad days, my i want to throw the towel in and give up days, but i have done this for 2 years now... so I can tell you it does work. If you want a bit of motivation I will send you one of the worst photos I have of myself... actually makes me cry to think it is me, especially when my mate of 13+ years, her mom, couldn't find me in it!! You just say the word & i will send it over FB to you... !! Just think, 2 years and ive done 68.5lb so far!!!

    xxx

So yesterday evening I popped up the infamous German Market in Brum.... surrounded by such amazing food and I didn't have any! Please be proud of me!! you'll see why! as it is so popular there ARE so many people wandering around espec 6-7pm on a Sat night, it was like wading through gigs full of people, even at standstill at some points!!

I went with my mate who supposedly is also doing WW!
She had a plate of sliced fried potatoes which were cooked in garlic/paprika, looked and smelled amazing!! until after she paid i saw how much oil they put on to cook them!! So sort of put me off and made me glad I didnt have!
then she went and had an amazing smelling German Burger in a Bun, followed by a German Wine/Amaretto combo thing, then a Frankfurter in a Bun, smothered in garlic mayo. . . . THEN bought a 10 piece German version of Teacakes, marshmallow covered in chocolate all sitting on a wafer. . . she also bought a sugar/cinnamon pretzel which I'd bought one for my OH! Bearing in mind being so busy I had to stand at the stalls with her so staring right at this amazing food!!
I also bought my mom a baby stollen, and dropped it off before I went home, she offered I said no!!

Got Home at like half 8/9, made us a really cheesy pasta bake and very kindly my OH offered me a mouthful of the pretzel (more like a doughnut in shape of a pretzel) and that is it!! with 3 pp to spare as well!!
    So proud of myself!!
    xx

I was proud until I stood on the scales... looks like all my hard work this week hasn't paid off, im currently half lb heavier than I was last week.... doing my head in ! When I try I fail, When I don't try I fail too!!

Tattty - dont be disheartened, you may have had a bad week of eating rubbish but I highly doubt that it will be half a stone, give yourself a good couple of days/weeks if you can and it should drop back off...
chin up hun, we will all get there... one day! xx
