Hi guys! I'm Natalie, new to UK Bride. I'm planning for a wedding in York in 2012 and want to get alot of my planning done early - less stress later on! If anyone else has gotten married in York I'd love to hear about your venue and any suggestions for photographer, chair covers etc for the big day, aswell as any other tips you might have
Thanks x

I am from York originally but now live in Nottingham. Im getting married in Notts but i have ordered my dress from Brides of York in Micklegate. My advise is go to brides of york to try dresses on i would very highly recommend them. Based on a phone conversation on the sort of dress i wanted, they brought some dresses from Northallerton over for my appointment, and i and my bridesmaid found the dresses....they are not pushy but honest, patient andthe service is fantastic....
Ooh and my sister had her reception at the Churchill in town, a lovely hotel...... fyi
Good luck ladies... :O)

i live in york, (getting married abroad though). as for venues, my sister had her reception in the hilton, it was lovley. there is merchant taylor's hall, and merchant adventurers hall, they're both gorgeous places, and they have beautiful grounds. there is hazlewood castle which is just up the motorway a bit- thats stunning! and then there are all the big hotels that are always having weddings like the marriot, monkbar hotel and the royal york hotel. or the racecourse? sooooo agree with rach about brides of york, my sister got her dress from there, and they were so lovley! i found my dream dress in pronuptia on micklegate so i never made it to brides of york! ill rack my brains about some other useful stuff! x
