Hi everyone my name is victoria and im new to uk bride. ive been engaged now for 3 years and i have been with my faince for 5 years. we originally planned to get maried in 2010 however i fell pregnant and now we have a beautiful 1 year old baby girl. then we said May 2012 but as were just building our savings back up we discussed Sep 2013. im getting worried that were never going to be able to pay for a wedding and were just going to keep pushing the date further back. i really want to get married but i judt dont see how we are going to save up the money as were both from a big family. has any one else found this a problem? how did you cope and have you got any money saving tips or sugestions. thanks in advance for all replies and comments. love to all. vicki x

welcome to ukbride. i have bought so much from bay of e and it has saved me loads of money! you can get near enough everything from there.

alot of brides on here have done their entire wedding for under 3k so it can be done. what i have done is buy things as and when i saw them and it breaks the cost up.

having a late ceremony, having a buffet are also really good ways to save money.
if you are having bm get them to pay for their own dress, same goes for the men! xx

its not easy when you've got little ones they always need something ie new clothes and nappies lol, we have two little ones and we find that it easier to save like a couple pound each week, or more if we can afford it we try to put away £300 a month although we have cut out allot of things we just dont need mainly junk food and magazines.
Set the date, make a budget and stick to it work out how much you both need to save then stick to it as much as possible, maybe ask your family if they want to contribute to the wedding.
If you've already got an idea of what you want check out venues tell them your on a tight budget and see what they can do, if you get married in a weekday Mon-Thurs you can save loads also if you marry in off peak holiday times you save loads too

and ebay is great, make your own invites, cake you can save on everything if you put mind to it the most important thing to do is haggle they're only going to say no, nothing scary, with a big family just keep it to people you see not the auntie you saw 3 years ago its your wedding no one else's
