As some of you may already know we received our wedding video back at the end of last week.
We decided very last minute to have a videographer at our wedding, mainly as we didn't have anyone to film/edit it for us. Friends and family have had theirs filmed as well by work colleagues or family members who are good with a camera, and have had some pretty good edits come out of it. As well as people hiring professionals. Both of which they have a lovely memory & keepsake of their wedding day. Mr D was unsure about whether he wanted one for our day, and wasn't bothered when we booked. As soon as we watched the link & then the DVD on Friday he turned to me and he said I am so glad you went ahead and got one sorted out for us.
So my advice to any B2Bs (and any Groom to bes....) if it is something that your are unsure of, or discussing with your partners, if you can fit it into your budget, whether its a friend or family member, anyone to hold a camera, definitely go for it. It is worth every second. You don't need the edit or the music or anything like that, just try and get the main bits on film as on the day you probably won't take it all in, and it'll be a lovely reminder for years to come.

its a really lovely video lulu. im going to hopefully have a student from a uni do one for us. think they r really expensive n dont think we cud afford a professional but the tutor said in the budget u have they think they can def do something for us. xx

Aw thats lovely, as i said above, however you can, if you can, try and get it filmed as it is really a lovely keepsake and there will be stuff filmed you'll forget or not take in on the day! xx

Kelbel - nor was MrD, he thought was waste of money, and also thought no point asking a friend as we're all going to be there anyway etc. as soon as he watched it he changed his mind.
One way or another I think you should get it filmed, as ive said before so many things go unnoticed on the day, or you dont get a chance to take it all in, or listen to the speeches properly, we were watching it on Friday and it brought it all back and made it all feel very real, there were things like certain parts of MrD & best man speech i dont remember.
We decided VERY last minute as he wasnt bothered, so was down to me, and had to stretch the budget however was so worth it! I know many friends who've had their friends film it for them, theyve just asked them to go and film the main bits aka ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, speeches etc. Whether its then been editted or just given as raw film it doesnt matter, its just a reminder for them and they can sit back in their own time and watch it. Everyone who has had it filmed told me it was definitely worth it, may not seem like it at the time but afterwards they were so glad. as am i! Best thing we chose to do to be honest!
Even if you can find a friend or relative to do it, or a college student or someone to do it on the cheap then definitely think its something you should go for!

All I can say is wow - its a lovely reminder of your day. Its something I was thinking off but obviously the money was an issue. Since seeing this I have now had confirmation that a friend of mine will film the ceremony and as much of other parts of the day as possible. Congratulations to you both x

Oh shush. Its wonderful what people can do with a bit of cut & music!! Seriously. You should look into it, I've seen some peoples friends do their edits & it looks as good if not better than any professional.
To be honest though, professional or not, it doesn't matter, you have a reminder of your big day. Memories to keep forever. xx

I found a shot I loved from the video and enquired into whether he'd be able to send it me so I can turn it into a photo or a canvas, and was worried as quality would differ from photographer shot etc with clarity & what not but he has done a great job and been able to send me it!! straight from a screen shot!!

wow, thats so lush, im thinking of getting my friends friend to do ours as she did media at uni, and has lots og good mini music vids etc, and means she gets invited in a way and i get somthing for free/cheap
