    Hi Ladies,

need your help lol, we were let down by one venue, gave us one price and we found out it would be twice what they said, so we are looking for somewhere else.
Would any one happen to know any venues in/near hertfordshire?
    cheers

Theres a golf course to welwyn to avoid, the meal is £175 per head! lol

Errr, theres a hotel in old stevenage a friend got married at that was lovely.

Honestly, the best place to start - google "hertfordshire weddding venues"
The results will send you to sites with a list with about 120 on there

Can I ask which place it is? (Just because my best mate is choosing her venue now and I want to make sure she avoids it lol)

hertfordshire is a big county, where abouts are you wanting?
    Hatfield house is apparently nice.
Also if you want more south / west herts i was at a reception at the bobsleigh in bovingdon and it was lovely, boxmoor lodge, little hay golf course (all around boxmoor and bovingdon).
Whipsnade zoo do weddings, though quite pricey we thought, would depend on your budget.
A number of community centers and rugby / golf/ football clubs also host receptions and have licensed bars.
There are hotels, such as ramada which are dotted about all over the place.

We are having our wedding reception at a pretty villiage hall (pics on my albums) we are hiring a licensed bar there for the evening, but its very reasonably priced.

The grove is extortionate! I love it but didn 't even bother thinking about it as knew it wouldn't be in our price range. Do you live near Watford then? What sort of price per head were you thinking? I could try give you some ideas then x

No I'm sure it can be done just not at The Grove! Lol. The Ramada hotels are within that price range, there is one in Watford & Hatfield. I don't really know Hertfordshire too well once pass Watford (I live in Harefield next to Rickmansworth) but you could have a look on google. That's what I did, I looked at loads to get prices & worked out which ones we could afford before we went a fell in love with any then viewed the ones in our price range x
