i've been saving any spare change and putting it in a piggy bank, it's a good way to start. shop around, yoou can always get a better deal somewhere else and don't be affraid of trying to neogtiate prices and playing suppliers of the competition xx

hi and welcome...how i save is a write down at start of month when i get paid the amount i got paid. i then work out how much my bills are eg phone, contact lenses, credit cards. then i add how much i spend on food and petrol each week to my bill amount.

i then work out how much extra i will spend each week for example going out at weekend. i average £50 week spending money. i take that money £200 for the month out my bank. i then dont touch my bank or use my card the rest of month!

i have to make that money last the month. the money left over in my account goes on the wedding and any extra money i have in my bank at end of month or in my purse goes in saving account!

i also save my change and put it in a moneybox! xx

i would make a list of everything you need and divide your budget up accordingly, look for offers on everything before you buy anything, ebay is a brilliant way to save money, asda and wilko you can get decorations from etc, see if friends and family will help, or if they know anyone that can do photographs, cakes etc, its amazing who can do what to save you money when you ask them. :) x

I am the queen of bargain hunting. Right then, if you want links message me or add me as a friend as I have tons but the rules say I can't post them here so here goes. I've found wedding dresses for under £300, I'm having the flowers done by a friend and will buy the flowers from tesco in bulk or somewhere similar, I am making our invites and designed and printed our engagement party invites, my engagement ring was reasonable but we'll spend money on wedding rings. We are having 1 meal not 2, everyone is at our ceremony and we go straight to party cutting costs on feeding people twice. We are photographers and have lots of photographer mates so those are sorted also, bridesmaids and flower girls paying for themselves. The cake is being done by my friends Mum. The people who love you will help you so ask! Also photographers are uber expensive, we are about £500 but there are cheaper out there so google them or ask friends to take them and research some poses first. Scour ebay! I'm having simple table decs which will only cost me about £5 each altogether. In my opinion style and elegance does NOT have to be expensive and companies cash in big time on our big days! So I'm all for DIY weddings! Good luck hon x

heya hun I too am on a tight budget!!

The main money saving tip id say is utilise the wonderful bay of e! Loads of lovely things cheap on there!
we are also saving change in a jar and have a seperate bank account for the odd bits of money we transfer it and it soon mounts up! In 2 weeks we have saved £30 like that!

sell anything u dont use! old toys/games etc

Our meal between the ceremony and evening buffet we are only paying for the MOH and Best woman!
some of our closest family and friends are paying for little bits as our prezzie!
everyone is buying their own outfits too!

Type in £1000 into the search bar and there is a thread that has lots of tips on how some of the girls have managed to get married on £1000. It should help you out a bit and to get some ideas.
