just saw this and I have to say I love it! Its a kinda of a time capsule thing, and its gives you hints and tips on what to put inside your tin.
    the advert says:
This is the start of a new stage in life. Use the time capsule to create a unique way of remembering the preparation, the special day and all the excitement surrounding a wedding. The photo album will keep images safe, but the timetin will give the bride and groom the opportunity to capture the memories of what life was like at the time of their wedding too. Choose a milestone anniversary to reopen your timetin time capsule and relive what life was like that special year.

Its a bit pricey at £20, but sure we could make our own. Will stick link on my wall so you can see it.

yep. We are doing a "50 year candle" and have bought a big NeoM candle and we are going to light it for the first time during our ceremony, and let it burn for a few hours. Then on our anniversary every year, we are going to burn it for an hour, and let the scent drift us right back to our wedding day. We plan on doing that every year for 50 years. Then on the 50th we can also now open our time tin!!!!
(Its a romantic idea i know, we will prob both be dead by then! lol)

Lovely ideas! We are most probably going to plant a tree in the garden and watch it grow as the years go by, thought that would be a nice thing to do!

I am in love with this idea. This is so me. I would probably design my own as I know it won't be long until I'm opening it up!

just got my tin. i saw one for £3.99 on ebay! and I love it. It says to put in a wedding invitation, menu, OOS etc etc
Also to put in a CD of the wedding songs, cards received, copy of the speeches, copy of what guest gave you what, the front page of a newspaper on your wedding day and loads of other suggestions.

there is also a booklet inside with lots of questions in it, like what car do you have and whats the reg? how many people attended the wedding, favourite present, and also a page to list how much certain things cost like a pint of milk!

its great. There are 2 little cards in there too where you write the date it has to be opened, and you both take one each. Its a really nice idea and will help to remember everything about the wedding in 20-odd years time.

I like the idea, but when you move house you will have to dig it up and move it too. Can you imagine being able to get it out and NOT open it? Would be very tempting to have a quick look!
We wanted to do the tree thing like Jane, but again what if you move house?
Maybe I'm just thinking like this as I have moved house 7 times in 5 years and am just about to do it again : (

We are having a special box that is kind of similar in theory. We're having a box and inside we are having two glasses, a bottle of something we both love to drink and a love letter each written in secret by each of us to the other... at the wedding we are going to have our guests add their wishes to it, then we're going to lock it shut and only open it when 'the day' comes - we've decided 'the day' will either be a big anniversary or just when we really need it - e.g. we're struggling to remember why we are together and need that reminder when nothing else will work :)
