Just wondering how many of you have been to a wedding Fayre/show before and what to expect?? There's one coming up near me in a couple of months and I'm gonna go but just wondered what there like and how you found them

I went to one near me about a couple of months ago and it was ok but nothing special. Guess it depends where you go tho!
The one I went to was basically people with stalls trying to sell you their services or products in relation to the big day. I got asked about a million times when I was getting married, which I suppose was nice really but alittle annoying after a while!
It is good if you want to gain some ideas or inspiration, also it's a good chance to get some quotes etc and find out about services that cater for weddings around your local area x x x

i have been to tons! i love them have got loads of inspiration from them but not used any of the suppliers :-S only the photographer that goes with our venue. You will get bombarded loads of leaflets and info but its all weddings so you will love it H2B might not though lol tom hates them! x x

I've never been to one but I am desperate to go and surprisingly so is Neil! He does scare me sometimes with his love of shopping. lol. I am planning on going to the big Wedding Show at Glasgow SECC in October this year and will be armed with a fully loaded credit card, should be good fun. I'm looking forward to the freebies too. xxx

They're good for ideas, basing my invites on a stationery company's design, found our wedding car, helped Ross enormously on the suit front and got to see a lot of our photographer's work - turns out he's been involved in a lot of weddings with most local vendors so his pics were all over the show :) No harm in looking xxx

Im going to one on September 19th just up the road from me! Going with bridesmaids and future MIL, should be fun! Our wedding car supplier is going to be there too. I know that by then most things will be sorted out for our wedding but thought it might be nice just to see if there were any freebies and get any ideas I hadnt thought of yet!

ive been to loads but it is a bit of an information overload after a while! i come home with bags of leaflets and spend ages sorting through ones to keep. i found my photographer at a wedding fair x

I agree with the others - they are great for ideas but be prepared to say "thanks I'll think about it and come back to you" a lot! The National Wedding Show in Brum is mental - I went there for work once and nearly got trampled on by B2Bs rushing for the dress stands! Local ones aren't quite that bad. I'd take your bridesmaids or Mum though - not H2B!

ive been to a few but they kind of remind me of being in holiday in tunisia with people constantly wanting you at there stalls lol! but then i found the rudest people i have ever met there, which made me unbook my cake company and cars because they were so darned rude! some of it can be really helpful but tbh i just went for the freebies x

Found out there is one at the Trafford Centre on the 19th & 20th Feb - might have to go to that one. And my local town is having one in the Memorial Hall, which I'll go to because the lady I got my wedding dress off is having a catwalk show at it, and she's lovely, so I shall be there in support :-)
I enjoy them, just to look round for ideas and enter the competitions - LOL I have entered sooo many competitions!

We went to one at Elland Road stadium last year - but to be honest we didn't really enjoy it. When we arrived we filled in a card for a free draw to win wedding things - and since then all we've had is junk mail from companies plying their trade.
I visited a bridal shop that was there, and they were so rude and obnoxious once I had my appointment. At least I found somewhere else completely for my dress.
Personally I don't like being given the hard sell by companies and them bombarding me for business - as we've managed to book everything for the wedding without anyone from the fair.

We're going to the four weddings and a fairytale one in Newcastle tomorrow. We went last year as well. It's the best one I've found for freebies. Got loads last year. Saying that tho it cost £9 to get in. Brides free but H2B always gets collared!

I haven't been to any yet it's typicial before I was engaged I saw them advertised everywhere in my area but now nothing until April but that one is at a venue I was going to check out anyway which is cool can't wait!!!

I have 3 over feb one i'll be dragging h2b too on the 4th at the bull hotel, another my friend will be dragged along to on the 11th at the east of england showground and my sisters are coming to the last one on the 23rd at springfields hehehe (might have got where on the last two the wrong way round???) Cant wait, ive found a few things at previous ones ive been to so cant wait to see what i'll find this time!
