We cant decide where to get our wedding rings. Jewellers shops seem very expensive and poor quality for the money and internet seems appealing but risky, what is everyone else doing?

We're going to get ours from h sams or EJ but that's because I get to use my friends 30% staff discount. :) prob would get from hs anyway. We're only getting cheapish rings as we've said we'll get new nice rings when we've got more money or renewing vows.

I must be crazy giving myself only 6 months!

We've got ours from a local jeweller. They make rings in their own workshop so make to order on whatever size, metal you want. They also were comparable with online jewellers prices and they clean the rings in store for life as well as guaranteeing them for life. I'd recommend seeing if you have a good local jeweller as the main reason I didn't go online was that I don't ever want to be without my rings! They'll never need to be sent away for cleaning/repairing etc. That said I saw equally nice rings from online companies at wedding fayres. X

We have bought ours from hs too, and i love love love them, i cant wait to get it on my finger... soo pretty. i've heard good things about the online company that sounds like hooch though. Have a shop around, or make an appoinment with hooch and have a look at the samples they bring, i dont think you are obligated to buy if you have an appointment. I'm sure sussie will be happy to advise you on that. xx

We're probably going to get titanium rings online. I really like the idea of titanium, it's really durable and won't need dipping like white gold will and it's so cheap!

It will probably ebay for us but we'll also have a look at local jewellers. But to be fair I should mention that we're keeping this very plain and simple and only sterling silver - so very cheap. Jewellery is not important to us.

We won ours from a certain kissing company and they were fab... Even though we won ours their prices are quite good anyway, the start from about £150?

H2b was really happy that we could choose at home as it meant he didn't get dragged around a million jewellery shops yet again!

I was happy because I could choose the ring I wanted and make a few changes so it was literally the perfect ring for me!

Yeah there is no pressure to buy there and then, they leave all the details and if you go for it at a later date, you can just email them with the order number. They are great at sorting out any issues too. Prices are reasonable too.

Thanks for all the advice but does that company do heavy rings because my H2B would like a heavy ring, all the ones we have looked at in HS have been really light and fragile for the money they want for them.

We got ours from a company we met at a wedding fair. We clicked with the people right away and as we're in London, their Hatton Garden base was ideally located for us. Thwy were great and we never felt as though they were trying to just get more money out of us. In fact, they recommended hubby went for a palladium ring rather than platinum that we were originally going for, as it would be a quarter of the cost! As we paid the deposit in November last year, they held the prices for us, despite the actual cost sky-rocketing due to the price of precious metals going up. When they did the insurance documents, they put the prices that they were worth on the day we picked them up, which was about twice the price we actually paid!

We got ours from a shop in hattons gardens - £1000 for both (but this was less than online jewellers had quoted us). Mine was platinum made to fit around engagement ring, and hubbys was palladium

I inquired with the kissing company, but their starting prices for what i wanted were too high for our budget(especially as i had accidentally put 19ct white gold which they translated as 9ct white gold instead of 18ct white gold). I did order online through another company i found, i was dubious but the reviews seemed really good.

I paid £188 for a lightweight 2.5mm 18ct white gold band with engraving, and £114 for a 6mm titanium band, with a different finish in the center to the edges also with engraving. I ordered at 4.30pm on a Thursday and Friday morning i received a ring sizer so we could check our ring sizes to ensure they were correct. I emailed my confirmation on Monday and received the rings that Saturday. I was really impressed with their service, and the rings are really lovely. They had lots of options to customise rings too, which i thought was a nice idea.

We looked around (online and all the high street stores) but as soon as I saw mine I knew that was the one. Husband is quite hard to please (as he isn't really a jewellery person) - but we both found what we were looking for at F Hinds (just over £400 for both as well).

We have titanium for ours. Nice and cheap but nice looking rings. I had to go for something plain as cannot have stones in it due to the nature of my work. The ones we have are on my profile, the inside you cannot see properly but they are flat on the out and rounded on the inside and are very comfy.
