if you are going to wear it more with your engagement ring then you need to get the exact same gold as that. My ring shop told me you cant mix golds, as they have a different softness and the harder one would eventually corrode away the softer one (she told me a platinum ring would rub away my 18ct white gold engagement ring in 5 years with continuous wear!)

I agree with linzi too but if you're not wearing it with an engagement ring you can have pretty much anything you fancy, if you're after a tougher metal for work titanium is a good one but thats mainly used in mens rings as far as i've seen and doesnt sound as fancy as saying "my ring is platinum" lol

Hi we're going with plain palladium bands but I know someone who has the most amazing wedding ring! She has a sterling silver ring with 6 square cut saffires in a line one the top and one princess cut red ruby on the bottom, her hubby has then got the same but with six square cut red rubys and one saffire. They look amazing :)

or you can have a mixed one, we were looking at wedding rings with white and yellow gold mix, but eventually chose white gold, but there are loads of options out there.
We had a consultation with a woman from a wedding ring company who came round and we designed exactly what we wanted.

I am with lini. Couldnt you have a cheaper white gold ring for work and then buy an expenice gold ring for when you wear your normal engagment ring
