We didn't really want to spend more than £150-200 each on our wedding rings - is that a reasonable budget? I've just seen one I've fallen in love with but it's £700 and there's no way we can stretch to that!! Although that said - Im now thinking that a plain band would probably be ideal anyway as then it won't take away the beauty of my engagement ring!? What do you think ladies? xx
CommentAuthorVictoriaB
We spent around £450 for both of our rings he got a plain white gold band and I got a white gold band with a diamond band around the top it's really plain has shiney white gold and Matt white gold and looks fantastic with my engagement ring. I think if you have a bling engagement ring something plainer looks lovely with it ,unless of course you are planning on wearing your wedding ring alone then go all out xx

H2B spent £100 on his plain white gold 7mm band which I think is really good I'm on a similar budget for mine We said if we want more expensive ones we'll get them in the future when we have a bit more money xx
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
I've got a plain band, I went for a plain one purely as I cannot wear rings with stones in at work. We did go cheap and only got titanium, but they are lovely and comfy and wear well. I have mine on all the time, hubby does not,

I've seen two rings I love, one is £150 and one is £200.. I'll try them on with my engagement ring and decide. I don't think you have to go crazy and like Katielea says you can always get a more expensive one when you can afford it. Most people you talk to who have been married for years and years have changed their rings either because they could afford better one's, they didn't fit anymore or they broke
I think you've got a stunning engagement ring and I definitely think something a bit plainer will go lovely :) we haven't got our rings yet so I dont know about price. I may look into a titanium one for h2b as he doesnt like jewellery and works in a slaughter house anyways xx
CommentAuthorEllenH27
My wedding ring was £925 but it is a full eternity diamond band H2B was £174 int he sale and is titanium and white gold. Depends on the material, But you can definitly get them within that budget xx

Mine has cost £250 which is a thin-ish 18ct white gold band but goes perfect with my e-ring, h2bs cost £350 for a thick 9ct white gold band, because his is thicker it cost more, we saved 10% tho by getting the rings from Ernest jones because my e-ring was from there so paid £540 overall x

My fiance wanted a wedding ring with diamonds, as men don't get to wear engagement rings. We spent around £1400 on the wedding rings
CommentAuthorCharlieBe-Cool
My ring was £325 after getting 10% off. My engagement ring is very similar to yours, but I went with full diamond wedding ring over plain, as they are the only two i'll be wearing for life and they sat well together. My wedding ring would also look ok on its own if I decided to wear just the one. OH's ring was £275, its gold with 3 set diamonds.

Me and h2b went to the Jewellery quarter in Birmingham and I got mine for £250 and H2b's was £147. Mine has 6 diamonds in and crosses over in the middle and h2b's is a plain gold 6mm band, and they were made for us while we stood and waited! H2b is also a size Z3 so he got a lot of ring for the money! So together they came to just under £400 so it can be done! These are the rings we got xxx

Ours are quite pricey: mine will be £950 for a custom-made shaped-to-fit platinum and diamond band, and OH's is going to be £1380 for a heavy weight 6mm platinum band.
You can easily get rings for a lot less though; I would suggest that your H2B looks at palladium (if he's looking at white metal) as it is very similar to platinum, but about 1/3 of the cost. There are a few online retailers with good prices; I can send you their details if you like?
For your ring, I had a look at a few high-street jewellers and they all have 9ct white gold diamond-set bands for £150-200. So, if you still liked the idea of a diamond band that would still be an option on your budget. A plain band is definitely do-able: I'm getting a 3mm palladium one for £117 (yes, I'm having two lol; I'm greedy!); the same company does a plain 9ct white gold 2.5mm band (which would be a good thickness if you're wearing it with your engagement ring) for £77 and a 2mm platinum one for £221 (they also offer a 12 month interest-free payment plan if that's any help).

Thanks ladies - Barbie would love the details if you don't mind. I totally agree it's what they symbolise that matters - but obviously I want to like it too - hopefully wearing it for the rest of my life!!! :-) xxx

I have seen a ring that i like that's £299 and the OH already has his (was his nan's wedding ring) so it just needs stretching and having a little added to it. I don't need 18ct+ so i'm happy to go with 9ct white gold and have a carat weight of 0.10 in diamonds in the band. I want a shiny finger lol!

I had to get a new e-ring at the same time as our w-rings, as i wanted white gold, and my old ring was yellow gold. Being on a budget, we found oh a titanium ring from fhinds for £50. My e-ring is argentium silver with diamonds (£99), and my w-ring is sterling silver (£49) both from samuels. Photos on my wall. It doesn't matter about how much they cost, if you love them that's all that matters. Xx

H2bs has been bought, a tungsten plain band for £50 and I'm off to look at a 9ct white gold band that's 30 quid tomorrow. His is 4mm and I only want a 2mm, I have tiny fingers! X

I got my from 3tsy - white gold, full eternity with white sapphires instead of diamonds.. I originally looked there because I couldn't find a 1.5mm in jewellry shops. I feel in love and it cost me £40 it's beautifully sparkley. And other half found one he loved for £15 online... So we did both for £55..
We didn't set ourselves a strick budgets, but it worked out well...

I found a lovely palladium ring for h2b in goldsmiths, £550. Asked the jeweller what he would charge to make an identical ring and he quotes, £300. He is also making my custome ring, to fit around my antique engagement ring. He is picking the detail in the e ring up and using old diamonds from my great grandmothers rings in mine. My ring is platinum, and 18k white gold to match my e ring. He quote £750 for mine, and £300 for h2bs which he will engrave for free

Both our wedding bands together cost £1200 I think if I can remember rightly. His is 18ct white gold and plain, mine is platinum with diamonds.
I'd suggest trying different bands on next to your engagement ring to see what looks best. I wanted a plain band to begin with but hubby and I realised and agreed in the end that a diamond band would look better because my engagement ring had a diamond band either side of the main diamond. The plain band next to it just looked odd.

We went to a wedding fair on Sunday and had a look at wedding rings. My OH is an Electrician and I've been trying to persuade him to go for a 'sturdy' metal but he wants a gold band. Tungsten, palladium and titanium were recommended. There's also a bit cheaper. For a plain 9ct yellow gold band for David we were quoted £350 and for a 9ct white gold band with quite a few diamonds in for me we were quoted £600 (thankfully David isn't too worried about mine being more expensive than his!). The shop however have said that if we go with them we'll get a discount, free pendants for bridesmaids, free engraving and a £50 voucher for the shop :o)
I spoke to an online wedding ring company at a wedding fair a few weeks ago (they're coming to visit on 17th March). They suggested the same 'sturdy' metals for David's ring and quoted around £200 for each ring, but it would be £55 for engraving and if you want diamonds in it then it will be £35 a diamond.

We've ordered the rings :-) Found them on Saturday - mine is a white gold band with a slight diamond piece in the centre - compliments my E-ring perfectly. His is a titanium wide band with a tiny gold band running through the centre. Came to £200 for both of them :-)))))
