We all know planning is stressful and we seem to spend all our time trawling the internet, going to WF and dragging ourselves round shops. I'm in my 40's and have a job that takes me aboard quite alot so really wondered where I was going to find the time - hence my wedding planning team. I got my family/friends together and explained my dilemma, we discussed what I wanted/liked/envisioned the day etc and then I asked who wanted to help. Everyone took a particular area and playing to their strengths I have delegated responsibility. My wedding co-ordinator is my daughter who is brill at organising and time management. My Mum has done flower arranging and wedding bouquets before but she and my sister have booked themselves on a course and have decided to do the flowers as a wedding present. My other sister is decorating the cake with me and as I make cards in my spare time I am doing the invitations. Everyone is doing reasearch on their own little bit so are not overwhelmed and then are sending the info to each other. We also skype once a week to catch up. Delegation is scary and may not work for eveyone but I am so chilled about it and as they are doing things my family/friends feel more involved and I value them as this is really a family affair. H2B is also doing his bit - cars/ honeymoon /photographer. We can afford to have cake and flowers done professionally but this means so much more to me and my FH. What are your feelings about delegating ?

I haven't really delegated anything to anyone yet. H2B will be looking at the honeymoon, and I'll be looking at most of the other stuff I guess. Although, on the day, if anything needs doing, I've asked my MOH (Aunt), to be the one who's my gopher ... she's very well organized! x

It all sounds brillaint, as long as you trust everyone that you're getting on board to help you, it should all go brilliantly and help you in the long run while you're going to be so busy working!

Its great to delegate, as a wedding planner myself i am used to being the one who normally take the pressure off brides, and i would always tell brides to get help where they can, but there will be no delagating at my wedding, I am doing everything myself and happy to be doing it, also i want full controll so i know everything will be perfect and how i want it. xx

I'm pretty much organized as I'm not working at the moment but if I were still at work I too used to travel so it would have been a nightmare. I think the delegation is a great idea to get friends and family involved with the wedding. I just wish my h2b would take up the same view point. I said to him we might need to ask one of his friends to pick up the inflated balloons that morning as neither of us will have time and he was like 'we can't be rude they are our guests'. He says that every time I suggest we ask someone to do it. I've learnt now just to ask the friends if they mind (They all say yes) so its not a problem. Speaking of which I really need to get the quotes in for the balloons. BRB ;)
