    Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone has used or is using a wedding planner for their big day? If so what do you see as the pro/cons?

Also how would you go about finding one? Think it's too stressful for one person! Haha

Thanks and look forward to hearing back!

Ok I'm not using a wedding planner, but as a bride on a budget I think a downside is the added expense. Also I got the very wedding reception venue of my dreams myself at an incredible reduced price and I don't think I would be paying under a thousand pounds if I hadn't done it myself. A pro would probably be lack of stress, a planner would definitely take away a lot of stress! I would say talk to a few planners before deciding on one particular if you are serious about it.

I think now a days people are booking weddings well in advance so have plenty of time to do everything for themselves and search for all their own bargains so there is no need really for wedding planners. However, if you are both in high stress jobs then a wedding planner to do all the hard work may be a good idea! As for finding one, I would go to local wedding fayres and also google for ones around your area xxx

I think it wouldn't feel as personal if I'd have used one...

That said, a friend of mine did and she said the savings she achieved were in excess of what she paid the planner.

I think they are useful for brides with a larger budget but limited time.

In some ways it would be nice to have another person sweep in and do all the bits & pieces for our wedding precisely how I, oops I mean we, want them (pahahaha, like that could ever happen) but am not sure it would quite feel as personal.

If I was thinking of using one though I think I would go through recommendations of friends who have used ones before.

I wouldn't get a wedding planner, but I do have 2 planner books to make sure nothing gets forgotten or missed out and I love it! I do know of a couple of wedding planners that you can find through FaceBook, one is The Fairy Godmother, you could also google her as she has a website. (Not sure if I'm allowed to add this information or not so sorry if not)

I didn't use a wedding planner because tbh I didn't really see the point in one. We both worked together to plan the wedding, and planning a wedding is no different to planning a party etc so it wasn't hard.

If your on about the person wedding planner, I wouldn't use one as in one way yes it would be nice to have someone take all the stress away and for it to be a suprise at the end but they cost too much and you might not get those nice little touches you would put in yourself.

But if your on about the file wedding planner, I'm using one, homemade one. I'm using it as I'm planning it over a long period of time unlike most people who only plan it ib a few months or a year. Another reson been we borh have family from all over so will help keep track on invites and replys and ao forth.

i work away most of the year so i have got one her oringal quote would be 2 1/2 k but because i sourced my own venue cake and a few other things she has redused it to £1100 the reason for this is cause she is doing all the chasing of suppliers phonecalls and she will be overlooking the set up and running of the big day which takes the stress off me quite a lot they can also get u some big discounts

You need to shop around. the one very close to my heart charges £1000 for the whole amount of work, and to be there on the day. and her standards are very high. I know she understands how budgets are tight for people, so her prices reflect that, she also does packages and can also get the small details at cheaper prices eg bubbles at half retailprice for her clients.

I would def use one if i could, especially if i wasworking full time, but i didnt so i did it myself.

Lots of venues encorprate a planner/co-ordinator in the price of having it at their venue too. Depends where you go though. Im not really sure about private ones though. Maybe see if anybody you know can recomend one x
