Had some worrying news today. Basically we had found a photographer, a friend of my sister who would do us a discount; 120 page album, cd, prints and 1 on canvas for £560 which seemed realy good. We went to see her at a wedding fayre last week, and her work looked great. However, just found out today that after we left the fayre someone turned up to have a go at her because the work she was showing isnt her's! It's another photographer's! she was passing it off as her own. So realy not keen on going with her now! luckily we hadnt paid anything yet. So its back to finding one again :(

Were the photos copyright? Do you know if she is getting prosecuted?
I dont know the full details yet tbh, gonna ring my sister and see what she knows. Something should be done tho, she's taking credit for someone else's hard work. We have had another quote for £500 but it's only for a cd, and Im not sure if thats a bit pricey for a cd only?

I wouldn't be able to tell you because my father in law to be does it as a hobby so he will be doing some professional ones. I will just be putting disposables on the tables too so people can take their own. x

Thats a good idea, unfortunatley we dont know anyone who does photogaphy, will be putting cameras on tables tho. Going to meet up with the new one this week and take it from there I think. This is with a discount aswell she usually charges £600 :S

Nic why don't you try your local college. I went there to their photography tutors and asked them to ask their students if they fancied a job. Told them I wanted them all on a disk and they would have the rights to use them for their portfolio and I would give them a written reference for any future jobs plus £40 on the day and £20 for the disc afterwards. I was going to use one girl who was FANTASTIC!! But father-in-law decided to do it for us. xxx

oooh I never thought of that, thanks! would save alot of money too :) how did you get an idea of how good they were tho? did she have portfolios to show you?
CommentAuthorPuddleduck87
Yeah, 4 volunteered for the job. I asked the tutor his honest opinion. Hes not gonna give me a rubbish student coz its their reputation on the line. x
CommentAuthorPuddleduck87
Oh and they all showed me their previous work. You would be suprised on how fantastic they are. x

developing desposables is expensive and you always end up with loads of pics of peoples feet and stuff! silly pics, in the days when everyone pretty much as a mobile and digital camera, what we are doing is having a laptop set up in the corner, with loads of usb cables, that way at the end of the night everyone can download the pics they have taken (gonna get someone who knows pcs to be in charge) and it wont cost us a penny to go through and pick out the ones we like :)

Just shows you can't trust anyone.. That's really bad!!
CommentAuthornic_87
I like that idea too now lol. I realy thought we could trust her given her being a family friend friend near enough. But what can you do eh, atleast no moneys been lost :)
