you can find some gorgeous dresses on ebay...alot of the girls on here recommend ebay for alot of money saving ideas, you could always ask a fmily member to bake a cake...or even a friend of mine brought a selection of birthday type cakes from the supermarket and displayed them nicely, have you looked into hiring a suit or again ebay it!

could you not have even two or three flowers as a handtied type idea...i know it doesnt sound impressive, but if you had some really beautiful striking flowers it would look very simple and elegant. just an idea.

If you know anyone who has a lovely garden you could ask if they could supply you some flowers for your wedding, also try garden shows in early summer as many grow floweres to be judged and its possible to ask them to help out. Then you would only need to buy ribbon or ties to make up the bouquet. Another idea is silk flowers which you can purchase quite cheaply from ebay. Another route is asking a flower arranger if they can help with supplying flowers and arranging them for minimal cost. Just a few thoughts. x

Love the idea of 2 or 3 flowers. (would also stop attention been taken away from THAT dress) Your right ebay has some gorgeous stuff. Had no idea i could get that kind of dress on such a tight budget. And as for the cake my mum has informed me her work friend bakes them! Marvellous! Does anyone know if there is a limit on the amount of people who can attend a register office wedding?

For the cake, what if you brought 2 or 3 supermarket type plain white cakes, and decorated them yourself with a co-ordinated ribbon around the bottom of each tier, and some lil bits on top...I think it was on here that I saw you could buy the cakes from Asda..it's something I've contemplated doing for my sister as a wedding gift for her when she gets married x

it depends on the size of the room, my registary office has 2 rooms, one holds 15 people and the other holds 50...its costing us about £335 for the larger room.

you would need ask at where you are getting married how many guests the actual room you are marrying in can hold safely.

Also I think tiggs said that she got her h2bs suit with all the trimmings for £69 in BHS as a deal but unsure whether this is still on. I know they have a sale on at the moment for their shirts n ties sets. x

we are having the same problem as both our families are quite big...but we have a friend who is going to do a blessing for us at our reception, its the same as the ceremony, but obviously unofficial. you could consider just having parents and grandparents and getting someone, like a friend, to do a blessing (could probally find details of service online) that way you coul extend your ceremony to include everyone! xx

we are on a really tight budget too. for the flowers i am having a flower bomb, on the morning of the wedding my step mum is going to go down to our local market and pick up about £40 worth of fresh flowers, she is then going to tie them together with ribbon in about 5 different bouquets and then all together with a big ribbon. when i go to throw the bouquet im going to discreetly untie the big ribbon so when i throw it, it will seperate in to lots of mini bouquets. therefore getting a stunning bouquet and something a bit differnt for very little cost! there are even sites on the internet showing you how to put bouquets together if you want a little bit of extra help! :-)

I'm hopefully aiming for £2000 with everything in with 100 day guest and going onto 200 evening guests. Im mainly going to save money on catering. We will be getting married at 4pm so by the time we arrive at the reception we'll have speeches and roll straight onto a buffet (saving mega money on a wedding breakfast, no hassle with seating plans, numbers etc). I like making desserts so make them up and freeze them and allow them to defrost on the day. Me and my sister are also attempting the cake. We will ask certain guests to make up food on there invites instead of getting us gifts. That way they are really involved and dont have to spend a fortune on a gift, that we will probably never need! My brother is our driver for the day. My aim for the day is to use all the family around us and get them involved. To me thats what our day is about familys coming together xx

Gerberas are STUNNING in a bunch of 2 or 3...a pal bought a bunch of flowers from asda and made a handtide bouquet..you an find bridal bouquet handles on ebay and also the ribbon that goes around a handtide posy..it has velcro to close it so tidies up the stems a treat - look in 'Northern Lights' ebay shop...

Ikea do CHEAP glass vases...you an get florists submersible coloured lights..fill the vase with water and a complimentary food dye and perhaps wrap some ribbon and a gerbera head...?

Cake - M&S and Asda ready done akes are delicious..wrap your hosen ribbon round them and either add on the ready made icing flowers (asda) or put a few flowers of your choice on the ake?

I am using feathers NO flowers for me..have a look in ebay at peacock feather bouquets and get an idea what a feather bouquet could look like..any kids for bridesmaids give them a teddy to hold...I will get back to you when I think of anymore...

...no dj...use itunes on a laptop or ipod, that will take time to organise music for different parts of the day but will save a fortune..see if one of your guests caould act as your 'Emcee' and take care of the laptop etc...remember when doing music that you use the 'fade' button thingy to make sure your music has no silences between them!

Photo's...ask as many people to take digital cameras. Write down a list a pictures you would like..family, friends, you and fella...etc etc...check out 'poses' from professionals pictures...scope out good picture spots and spend some time getting pics..perhaps at the wedding reception somebody could use a laptop to upload everyones pics so you get to see them and then choose the best...?

i thought i was cutting corners doing everything for £8000 (:o) !some really good ideas on here though, although id be wary of ordering your wedding dress from japan/china because one of the other girls on here did that and is now selling her 2 dresses that she bought because they just werent good enough, so maybe stick to the ebay theme for your dress, try some on in the shops, see what you like then find it online. ive also noticed on ebay they sometimes do group sellings of bridesmaid dresses, i got my 3 dresses and matching flower girl dress for £80 good luck!x

E-mail invites and if there are people you cant (e.g. grandparents or whatever) try to hand deliver them to save on postage. You can get tonnes of wooden flowers on ebay for very little and if you trim stems they can be used as button holes, used for centre pieces, part of your bouquet, for your bridesmaids, as favours, and best of all you can keep them forever :)
