i think i make that £580. don't think i've done too bad and i reckon if i shop around i can get it even cheaper :p the main costs are obviously the reception office and rings. any idea's where i can get cheap but lovely wedding bands. (we both just want plain traditional) bearing in my my h2b is big built so needs a bigger ring in order for it to look right. x x

Not wedding rings but I have had jewelery from argos and it was all right, I got my mum a crucifix from there years ago for about £40 and she wears it every day and it's still in perfect condition, make sure you shop around though and take advantage of sales.

we are looking at getting our wedding rings from argos. As we didnt have any money when marc proposed, my engagement ring is from there aswel and its gorgeous. Our wedding is going to cost under £1500, but the honeymoon is costing £2500 because of the time of year. I didnt realise Hobbycraft had flowers too, i may have to go in and just have a play around!

Ebay! Look for tungsten rings - they are cheap to buy but will never mark or scratch!

What are you doing for photos? How about asking all of your guests to bring their digital cams and getting cheap blank disks to give out at reception and asking them to put their pics of the day on them

For photo's we are having people taking camera's and "snapping" away all day. that way we should have hundred's of shots. Then we will have them on disks and print them out when we have more money. Also my parents are filming most fo the day to put on disk. x x

We were originally going to get married in Leeds where we're from - but to have a wedding and evening reception with buffet for 120 people (no wedding breakfast) the total cost was creeping upto around £5000 for everything. We changed venue completely and decided to have a smaller wedding (20 of us) up in Gretna Green. We've booked a package and a three course meal for us all in one of the hotels - total cost including everything (dress, rings, suit hire as well) is going to be under £3000. Doing it this way means we can have a honeymoon as well (and hoping for all inclusive to save costs again)

    Hi
were on a budget cos we have two young girls.
my dress in sale and the kids were
tesco wedding cake from £6.99 per tier
    reg office £60
morrisons do glass hire if you buy wine from them
buffet at home in my dinning room and a gazebo in garden cos might be raining knowing my luck and its a tiny two bedroomed house.
i plan on having a big day on a low budget, when people ask what you want tell them you want them by yourside at your wedding and as a present everyone brings a plate or bottle so you can celebrate the day together. it made most of my guests cry. enjoy your day babe. best wishes the future mrs marshall

MOE, be careful with the Morrions glass hire, I know first hand that mistakes can happen, check exactly how many glasses they have and find out if they are borrowing any from another store, then check yourself with that store how many they have and that they know about it, ideally do this a couple of weeks before and make sure you get the glasses a few days before the ceremony and that everything is in order. Odds are it'll be fine but I have sorted out a glass loan that didn't work out because other stores let us down, and I felt terrible about it but there was nothing else I could do. Also check if they are lending any to anyone between you checking numbers and you hiring them. I'm not trying to discourage you, things like that don't happen often, and they are great, just a friendly warning

instead of hiring glasses you could perhaps buy some plastic (good quality ones) add flower's or feather's glitter... etc.... Just a though. x

I'm not saying dont do it just saying you ask a few questions, they're normally really good for it, also for special orders for food and stuff (give more than 48 hours notice) just yeah, make sure they're not relying on other shops for spare glasses
