Hello everyone, well my wedding is not going ahead this year because of personal circumstances and we have not set an exact date yet now. I would love some advice on what to do with my dress please - my dress was bought off ebay and I love it so much and it is my dream dress, it is second hand so therefore has a rip at the bottom and is dirty underneath. I don't know weather to get rid of it and nearer the time I can do the whole dress thing properly like going into shops and trying ones on, I only got a ebay dress as was on a tight budget. I'm scared I won't find something I love as much but also I am in the middle of trying to lose weight so might not even fit me by the time I get married :( so upsetting and frustrating, help? Please and thanks x

I'm sorry to hear that your wedding is not going ahead, I would keep it personally get it cleaned and store it you can have it adjusted to 3 dress sizes down so you could still fit in it and decide once you set a date what you want to do then I would hate to get ride of mine and then not find another I love and have to settle for another x

I would keep it for now hun, if you love it that much you will still love it when you set a date. If you don't then think about selling it. I'm sure your dress can be repaired when you do set a date

Maybe hold on to the dress until you feel like you can let it go, sounds like you're uncertain about it so don't do something unless you're sure about it. Also, if you're losing weight then you run the risk of it not fitting which can work 2 ways-you try it on and it's too big and you decide it's not right, you want to find something new or you try it on and get it altered because you still love it.
I think it's probably a good idea to go to shops and try some dresses on anyway and see what is out there, you may find something that you love even more and also a lot of shops let you buy "off the peg" and also have sales all the time so you could find yourself a bargain!! Plus trying dresses on is a really good experience :)

I agree with the others, keep it for now, you might feel you can let it go at a later date. X

Sorry to hear it's being postponed for now, but I also agree that you should hang onto it until closer to the time.

If you keep it but want a new one closer to the time at least you'll know you've changed your mind and will be happy, but if you get rid of it now I think you'll always thing what if I kept it and even if you find a better dress you might not think it's better because you'll hold this one up as being the best, if that makes sense.

I would defo keep hold of it. You say it's your dream dress, that says it all. When you do set a date, see how you feel about it then, if you still love it so much then that saves you a bundle from the wedding fund.
