Hello all, i am in need of a little advice, ideas etc.
We are having a meal for all the guests at our wedding and am unsure of what to serve. The venue have suggested chicken goujons, which is fine as its one of our favourites, but we have three courses to think of as well a vegetarian options and have no idea where to start.
Any help would be appreciated. danni x

Do the venue not have set menus? Or are you bringing in an external catering company? Is it a proper sit down meal or a finger buffet? Sorry for all the questions it's just I used to do outside catering in my last job it's just so I can give you some ideas :) x

Mmmm lauraM... Steak pie!! Was just discussing this in the gym (not the best place to talk about food, not exactly motivational!!) and we said chicken is always seen as the safest option, it's the 'plainest' meat in flavour xxx
Im with you on that LauraM, and Crawf, the first words in my head was exactly Mmmmmm Steak pie LOL Steak pie definitely a yummy choice. Maybe take yourself and your H2B out to some restaurants and have a snoop at their menus? See what others are serving, see what you like and what takes your fancy. Then if you are having caterers who are doing it to your needs, see what they can offer from your selections. If your venue is providing the food, they might well have set wedding menus to choose from.

I find a roast dinner is a safe option, especially if you have chicken, turkey or pork as they are not strong. If you're not a vegetarian then maybe ask a few that you know as to what main meal they would enjoy eating.

Were having steak and chicken for our main meal guests can choose either, and of course there's a vegetarian option too. I would try and include chicken if you can, i think the vast majority of people like chicken it's a difficult call with red meats in my opinion.

We're having roast beef, balmoral chicken (chicken stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon) or a goats cheese tart and our guests can choose which one they want

Our venue had a number of options, about 10 starters mains etc to pick from. we are having crab cakes with chilli and tomato salsa for start, chicken with choritzo in red wine sauce for main ( vegetable tart topped with goats cheese for vegetarian option) and double chocolate tear drop mouse for dessert. Were having a hog roast for the evening. xx
