As we cannot afford to have live music playing throughout the meal we have decided to have instrumental versions of songs playing through the PA systems for some backround noise. I have a list of about 20 songs already but im now stuck. Can you ladies think of any songs that would be suitable? It doesnt matter if you dont know the instrumental version as i can always have a look to see if there is one.
Thanks !!!

What about some Glenn Miller? Moonlight Serenade is going to be my first dance I think.
We are having some nice jazz and soul music if that helps. Sam Cooke - Cupid and A Change Is Gonna Come, Ella Fitzgerald - Misty, Someone To Watch Over Me (there are LOOOADDS of hers), Sarah Vaughn - Tenderley, Nat King Cole - A Nightengale Sang in Berkley Square. I am walking down the aisle to La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong.
If you like this kind of music, let me know and I can come up with LOADS of songs but I know its not everyones taste. I cant wait to arrange the music for our day because I finally get to choose the songs lol.

I love Satchmo! I picked La Vie En Rose but now every time I hear it, my eyes fill with tears because I love it so much. I am scared Ill smudge my make up and be in tears walking down the aisle lol xxxxxxxxx
CommentAuthorClareS
awww I think I'll probably end up crying just because of the emotion of everything on the day - without the help of any background music lol
CommentAuthorCheryl22
Petra - yes we love old jazz music so any suggestions you have would be great :D
my OH isnt fussed about the backround music and doesnt think anybody wil be listening to it as they will be eating/talking but i think it would be nice just to have something that will fill any silences in conversation. x

i think it may be just going for the damage limitation with me - I hardly wear make up anyway so thinking of not having any mascara on - or at least a really good waterproof one lol

no problem! I'll make a list for you for Monday as I have all my music on my ipod. Got loads on there :-) How many songs do you need? I love picking songs. Music is my favourite thing in the world!! :-)

i was joking to my OH that i was going to get botox under my eyes as apparently a side affect can be being unable to produce tears!! As i cry at anything - adverts, songs, tv programmes!! Im going to be a wreak on our wedding day lol.
Thats Petra that would be awesome!! As many as you can find hun - we will to make it last a few hours so we need lots of music!!

I didn't even think about this. Is it standard to have music playing whilst having dinner?
CommentAuthorCheryl22
No most people dont bother as they think everyone will be busy eating and drinking. I just want music for when the guests arrive at the reception venue simply for backround music, but then thought why dont i carry it on throughout dinner. my mum got married last year and she never had anything and her day was perfect.
Its a completly personal preference hun xx

As we have a string quartet and a band we can't really afford live music for the wedding breakfast too so I have bought a cd called Simply piano moods, It has some of the songs mentioned above and I highly recommend it, also it only cost £5.00 for 4 CDs xx
CommentAuthorCheryl22
Petra thank you so much hun!! I have taken a note of all the songs and will begin to download them tonight x

Has any of you planned anything about this, as I doubt I DJ will be already settled during meal, and my string quartet could not stay longer than they already are, so I am not sure what to do about music during the sit down meal
Soon to be Mrs Gary Doublé
Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now
