hi all im getting married in may 2011 and have just sent all my invitations out but been told that its too early......
we are oaying for our own wedding so our invites are from us no parents names but ive let my parents have the rsvps sent to theres and now ive upset h2b parents :(
i never realised planning a wedding would be so stressfull between parents and not actually us :(

It's very stressful at times when this happens..... You never mean to upset anyone but deep down someone is always hurt..... Can you not give h2b's parent anything to do or keep an eye on, or arrange....? I have the same with my mum & his parents....... But it does pass and hopefully it will for you as well.... Keep your chin up xxxx

First i think now is fine i will be sending std a year before with invites 6 months before with rsvp's due back 2 months before so seems perfect to me dont worry what others say babe do what you feel is right.
As for h2b's parents upset about the rsvp's going to your parents can you give them a job to do as well??? Perhaps let them be in charge of the gift list if your having one so you know whose buying what? Dont know how they work yet as not done one before (even if it is my second wedding lol)

Weddings are tricky buisnesses, and its easy to accidently upset someone. So don't worry, you've done nothing wrong.

i agree with you totally about it being stressful! - just try not to let it affect the two of you ..... easier said than done i know! just do what feels right. as you can't please everyone!! x

I know what you mean, haven't had an upset yet....hopefully won't either but trying to involve btoh sides so niether parents feel left out. I get married in may and we're sending ours out dec so don't worry. We're sending ours then along with xmas cards....cut down on any postage costs lol. And cos we're giving people the choice of their reception meal we gotta let our venue know in april so they all gotta get back to us by end of march giving us enough time to put a list together for our venue. I think it's just the right amount of time personally. x x x

don't worry we have upset a few people but do you know what it our wedding and things they have got upset about is stupid so not even rising to it!! rsvp's usually go to the brides parents though. you haven't done anything wrong at all. we get married in may 2011 and think i might send ours nov time
