I read all the bad reviews for E&Ls pet insurance (i.e. trying to get out of paying up on claims) and it put me off going with them.
Can't wait to be Mrs Foster 21/06/2012 :D

We've got cover with Weddingplan insurance - they're reasonable and start at £20 to £175 (with different steps in between). For what they cover they definitely seemed the best option (we googled loads before we decided lol).

Im with Boo, we were put off E&L by the reviews, but i guess any company will have both good and bad! we googled loads and read so many reviews, in the end we went with a name we knew well just for piece of mind!! xx
Grr does anyone know of an insurance company that covers damage to attire through cleaning? The dress is the only thing I'm really worried about everything else is easily rearranged.

I got my wedding insurance with E&L and so glad I have. The other weekend we had a lovely venue burn down due to fireworks at a wedding party. It's when things like that happen you realize that wedding insurance is very important.

i should look into getting some as i havent booked a venue yet can i still do it or do i need a set date?? I have brought a few items but they were not break the bank amounts so not worried about those things x
CommentAuthormadhen
From reading one of the other threads it looks like you can book from about 2 years before your date, so I suppose that's the only restriction?
CommentAuthorJennifluff
Just a small point on the bad reviews... Maybe need to take them with a pinch of salt - as they are cheap, they probably have more reviews generally. I've heard mixed Inge about every insurance company. There isn't one that won't try and get out of something if ey can :-)
Haven't brought mine yet, but will do at the weekend. Xxx

Inge? Lol autocorrect!!! Reviews haha and they.
I really should read before I post haha!!!

True!

I went with E&L, according to this thread every bride has lol! We sorted it out as soon as we booked the venue, which was 2 years before the big day.
I recommend it simply because if the worst happens, you should at least get something. A former colleague of mine mocked his mrs for getting wedding insurance, but when he nearly died in a car accident a month before the wedding and had to be held together with pins and staples, he was glad he did!!! Things like the dress were fine, it was mostly venue, registrar, flowers, invites and the like they had to rebook once he was walking again, but they ended up with an even better package, and day, than they would have had they been able to get married on the original date. And they went with E&L lol!
A friend of mine went with John Lewis I think, because her hubby was working abroa it covered them in case of ash cloud preventing flights.
£20 well spent! xxx
CommentAuthormadhen
Selina, did it cover your venue if you had already booked it?? That's my issue as we're due to confirm venue this weekend and haven't sorted insurance yet.
CommentAuthorSelinaK
Yes, think so! But if you're worried, it took me 15 minutes to do it online. I think it bases it all on what you are planning on spending, and to be fair as the venue is normally the bulk of that I can't see how you would necessarily know for definite venue costs unless you'd booked it? You can buy it two years in advance, most people don't necessarily book that far ahead. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to buy insurance till the day before the wedding, and that is often too late!
Just double check when you look for it. I would check the famous wedding mags, they often have adverts on their websites for it! xxx
CommentAuthorSelinaK
ok, looking at these other threads that have been bumped I think I might be wrong! Which makes me nervous, I can't remember which way round I booked it!! I am going to have to dig out all the paperwork now lol! Just do the insurance tonight, to be on the safe side!
Wish I had found this forum BEFORE I started planning lol! xx

I've never even heard of wedding insurance before this post! And I've already put quite a few deposits down church, reception venue, photographer, cars and venue decoration... will I be covered for these if I get insurance now? I still have the receipts of payment for these things, but the wedding isn't til August 2015 xx
CommentAuthorBeckyU98
You are still covered for deposits that you have made before as long as they are below a certain amount. i think ours were covered if they are below £1000 check the policy wording or give them a call. we went with e & l because of the military wedding insurance its something i couldnt do without with H2B being in army x
