I just wondered if anyone had any health and beauty regime tips to share that have worked for them in the run up to their big day? I usually have very clear skin but recently its gone haywire...
Also, does anyone recommend doing a course of facials before wedding day?
Thanxx :D

Personally I wouldn't change a normal routine drastically before the day. I find that anything new, like getting a facial will cause a small breakout of spots, which is the last thing you want to contend with on your big day :-)

Thats what I've heard before too, I'm debating as I have a little while to go before the big day so I'm wondering to take the plunge and try it out... or I might have some lovely wedding de-stress massages instead :D

I thought I would and went for a very expensive clay facial last week, anyway apparently my skin was dry and soaked the moisture so it dried really quick and took 2 of them to wipe it off. Still felt a little gritty all day till I had a shower, decided that facials are not my thing, skin dosent really feel any better than it did before..... lol

Oh my goodness... Thats not good Hunny Bunny! Lol, you really kinda want results for things like this don'tcha, without having to shower it off yourself! xx
If it's a while to go, try a facial sauna and face-mask once a week, won't necessarily make a huge difference, but can make you feel better in yourself; I like facial scrubs too as they make my skin nice and soft and smooth.
You could also make sure you take care of your hands and feet, using gentle scrubs on your hands and a scrub/pumice on any hard skin on your feet, and plenty of moisturiser; dab a bit of moisturiser on your cuticles and pop your hands in a bowl of warm water for soft cuticles.
If you colour your hair or have dry hair, now would be a good time to start using an intensive conditioner if you don't already: try using it twice a week for soft, glossy hair. Also cut down on blow-drying/straightening as it helps reduce damage and keeps it in better condition.

leading up to a big event- ie had a few big weddings and nights out, hen-dos etc- i go a few days without make-up. i feel like it gives my skin time to breath and because people see you without make-up , when you do put it on it has a bigger impact

It's worth making a change as soon as possible. Make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturise every day and try to find a product range that suits your skin. I'm hooked on Elemis but Liz Earle is meant to be very good too (and a lot cheaper). Drink lots of water (2l plus as often as you can) and eat healthily as often as you can. A healthy inside is reflected on the outside.
For hair, if you use serum usually try swapping it out for coconut oil. It does the same job but nourishes your hair at the same time.

I've just booked in my hair regime over the weekend! I usually dye my own hair, but decided that I want highlights professionally done for the day. I spoke to my ex-hairdresser (she moved to Hamburg, which is why she's ex) and she recommended a full head , followed by half head and another full head about a week before the wedding, so I'm booked in for 13 May for my first ever full head of professionally done highlights - got an offer through that online voucher place everyone talks about on here!

i used to have my hair highlighted and used to alternate between half head and full head. i stopped though as my hair dresser moved away and i refuse to pay shop prices! i just colour my own hair now but really want to start having it done properly as it does look better and doesnt look so bad when roots come through. trying to find someone who works from home at the mo.xx

HeatherG - for your regime, what are the intervals between hairdresser visits? Slightly off-topic, are you ladiez having a professional hairdresser on the day too? xx

Mrsbarkertobe - have you tried looking on gumtree? There are loads of ads on there for mobile hairdressers. I was going to go for one before this voucher offer came through. Then I looked on their website and foudn that it would be about the same price to go to the salon - cheapest salon I've found in London - they do wash, cut and blow-dry for £30! Unheard of around here!!!
@ Barbiebride - About 8 weeks between them all. I've got a pro hair and make up lady fo Vegas, who I've never met and won't until the day before the wedding *eek*! I've sent pics of what my ahir is like and what I want it to look like, so I'm sure it'll be ok. For the London blessing/reception, my ex-hairdresser (who is also my friend who will be doing the blessing!) will be doing my hair and make up Hx

@BarbieBride - yep, Vegas at the Shalimar Chapel 11am local time (7pm GMT)! That voucher place does them for las vegas too, so maybe work (nearer the time) registering for them to bag yourselves some treats for your trip out there! We're heading out on Mon 12 Sept, getting married on the Thursday, picking up a Harley Davidson on the Sat, heading round the Canyon for 5 days, then back to Vegas for the final 2 nights in the Four Seasons - can't wait!
