We're doing a buffet for our meal as its a lot easier.. We're then going to have a hogroast for evening guests xx

I would probably skip the sit down meal, as your reception is starting quite late. A sit-down meal will eat massively into your evening reception, whereas with a buffet, people can just help themselves as an when they fancy, plus if people get a 'second wave' of hunger after a couple drinks, they've got food to nibble on.

I've having a 2 course and "cake buffet" and that isn't starting while 4:30 and then having chips and bacon butties at 9:30.

We will be having snacks and canape styles available from2/3 when the guests arrive at the venue though so they don't starve!!

And I think it depends on numbers though as well! A buffet will work out cheaper than sit down meal if you are inviting a lot of people! How about a carvery or hog roast? Mix the two together??

We got married at 3pm, sat down for meal at around 545pm and that was a buffet but sit down, if you know what I mean. Basically people went up, helped themselves to some things but other things were served to them if they wanted them like the meats.
