We're doing lottery tickets, but you can do whatever you want depending on your budget. 5 sugared almonds are the traditional wedding favour because of the French aristocracy, but most people don't know why they think of sugared almonds for a wedding.

DO you have a theme for your wedding? Could you work that into what you could choose for your favours?

    7 years together
    6 years engaged
    2 surprise arrivals
1 date set. I will finally become Mrs A in December 2013!

we are having personalised keyrings, (because i am cheating and using them as place names), I know someone that does small cakes as favours. I also know of a supplier that does mini perfume/aftershave bottles. My Sil2B did pens. It entirely depends on you and what you want,

I'm actually keeping with tradition and having sugared almonds, but the same colour as the main colour of my theme, which is burgundy. 5 almonds in each favour box. I like the tradition of fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness that they represent. But nowadays people use all kinds of things, like suzky said search the forums and also type in "wedding favours" in google and just have a good browse, there's loads of ideas and possibilities. x

You know, the amount of time us brides spend worrying about favours.....I bet half the guests don't even notice them lol.

We are having scratch cards. Or lottery tickets. Or maybe charity scratch cards when I figure out how they work.

We have boxes, which once decorated will look reasonably posh. Then I am putting a miniture pack of love hearts in them! My friend got married last year, and had mini jars of jam. She put cath kidston fabric over the top, tied with string, and used a parcel tag as the name place and put that on the jar too. They were really cute! x

I'm making traditional Scottish tablet and macaroon and putting them in burgundy organza bags with our personalised tags on ribbon around them. I'm also having two mini bath bombs in cream boxes for the ladies and lottery tickets rolled in ribbon for the men.

We are having mini plant pots with lavender and another herb as favours. Like the idea of people being able to take things away, using pebbles as placenames so can take away and use them as paperweights, door stop etc. Like the idea of as our marriage grows so does the plant, cheesy I know.
